I like this franchise so I'm gonna do real quick reviews up in here

WarioWare, Inc. is an all-time classic, they really got it right the first time. It's a Game Boy Advance game, give it a shot if you never have before. You can seriously play through the entire game in about 2-3 hours, but that's about the average length of every WarioWare game

WarioWare, Inc: Mega Party Games is a port of the GBA version to the Gamecube with some four-player multiplayer features. There's not much else there if you wanna play it solo.

WarioWare Twisted! is a GBA game with a tilt sensor. You rotate the console to play. Excellent game. It's one of THOSE games that sell for way too much on eBay, but if you own a New 3DS or a PSVita, mGBA supports the tilt sensor, so just drop the rom in and enjoy it that way. It's probably even better to play it that way since the GBA SP is uncomfortably narrow for a game that you play like you're using a steering wheel. There are also romhacks out there that map the tilting to the D-pad, if you'd rather do that.

WarioWare Touched! is a DS game, and everything is controlled with the touch screen. It's quite a bit slower, easier, and not as good as the previous ones. It's okay I guess, I dunno

WarioWare: Smooth Moves is a Wii game, you play it with just the Wii remote and it tells you strike certain poses before the microgame starts, and then you figure out what to do from there. It's not bad, about as good as you could adapt a WarioWare game to use motion controls, I dunno.

WarioWare Snapped! is a DSi exclusive that uses the built-in camera. The camera is a colossal piece of shit, so you need perfect lighting conditions and a blank background, since it tries to chroma key you into the games. Barely works, not very remarkable, very sparse on content and it was like $5, I think. Whatever. It's also totally unlisted from everything now so you gotta pirate it now

WarioWare DIY got vastly overlooked, it's more or less the closest thing we ever got to a sequel to Mario Paint. Make your own microgames that use the touch screen and very simple coding logic. There's also a comic book maker and a little music composer thing, and a number of pre-made microgames designed to inspire you. Install that shit on ya DS flashcard my niggaz, it's terrific, one of the best pieces of software on the DS overall

Game & Wario is a minigame (not microgame) compilation for the Wii U. I didn't really enjoy it but some people did I guess, enough to where it's retarded expensive on the second hand market for some reason. The best minigame, Gamer, got incorporated into WarioWare Gold anyway so just play it there

WarioWare Gold is a 3DS game that is sort of a best-of compilation between the original, Touched, and Twisted. It's (awkwardly) entirely voice acted and has some new microgames. It's a very good compilation and worth playing.

And now we've got WarioWare: Quit Fucking Up! on the Switch, and I'm gonna buy it and have another great three hours that I'll enjoy thinking about every once in a while for the rest of my life. This is my favorite once-every-several-years franchise.

still waiting on warioware: shove it up your own ass game.
Twisted! Was probably the best in the franchise, imo. I don't know what decision came down from higher up that said "don't add any side games" They always keep me coming back. Especially when they decided to """"remaster"""" older micro games.

I've never cared for these, always been a Land man myself. They're all fucking masterclass puzzle platformers and I love Wario's characterization in Shake It. Not particularly fair that Wario Land sold incredibly well and had one stinker with Shake It and got canned forever, while Ware seems to be immune to that penalty despite Gold selling like shit.

Oh well.

So, you can run Virtual Wario Land in greyscale on an emulator. Why wasn't I notified?

Fun fact: I played this in Blockbuster Video when it was new. They had kiosks set up for Virtual Boy. It's something you kinda have to see to believe. (And not in a good way.)
It was straight up retarded that they didn't remake that for the 3DS. It's the only Virtual Boy game that both held up, and was actually something you'd wanna play for more than 10 minutes.

"Waterworld on Virtual Boy" is now how you tell a computer to fuck itself in machine language. - Seanbaby
It's eternally underappreciated that of all the possible movie tie-ins that could have happened, the sole one to make it to Virtual Boy was fucking Waterworld of all things

Like, even Rare had discussions about a version of Goldeneye for the thing. That'd make sense. It'd be horrible, but it'd make sense.

Fucking Waterworld, though, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

The Postman, coming soon to your Jaguar CD!

Odd thing: in discussions about SNES music, Waterworld keeps coming up. For Virtual Boy, Ocean lifted some of the SNES compositions and converted them to VSU. The Virtual Boy was really shit at sound compared to the SNES, so the result is eye-opening; possibly the best soundtrack for Virtual Boy.

(As for the games themselves, they're very monotonous.)

The characters look yucky and cheap in 3D.
They never used to look like that. They made them like that in the 3DS game

Before, Mona had an actual nicely-shaped figure

Mona is actually my top 3 favorite mario chicks, with the other two being Rosalina and Pauline. So it was a huge disappointment for me when I found out they made her all flat and "safe" in WarioWare Gold.

Always loved the Wario Ware games. I remember the first time stumbling on the demo for the Gamecube game and laughing my ass off while playing it.

I never liked the voice acting or the art style in Gold and it's kind of a shame they're sticking to that for this one. On the other hand, I like how different characters have to be used in certain ways to complete the same microgame. If there's one thing the series does well it's being innovative.

Funnily enough, I never played the original GBA game until a couple years ago around the time Gold was announced. Glad I did though, because I got exposed to this beauty:
