Was 2014 the best year in Christory? -

I've been following Chris since 2008 and I have to say that nothing compares to 2014. I thought we were down for the count in 2012 but this has turned around in a big way.

• Chris officially comes out as a "Lesbian Identified Male" and a "Tranny Cross-Dresser" and crossdresses full time.
  
• Chris literally burns down his home using a Keurig coffee maker that was in the bathroom for some fucking reason.
• Chris makes a variety of new videos and sells medallions to the trolls. Chris flips out over a "shovel mech."
  
• Chris pierces his taint TWICE in order to have an "un-clit", and it becomes horrifyingly infected.
• Chris maces an employee at Gamestop because Sonic's arms are blue instead of tan.
• Chris has more gal-pal drama with an "open relationship."
• The details of Chris' encounter with a prostitute are leaked. She had done the weed. Chris snorts hand sanitizer.
  
• Chris tries to create a Kickstarter but gets kicked off the site.
• Chris tries to donate his foul, autistic sperm on several occasions but gets turned down.

Can it get better in 2015?!

Best in terms of action? Maybe. Saddest, too, though, like your favorite comedy that turned serious as the writers got ambition and got dark 'n' edgy, killing off main characters left and right.

It was definitely one of the most dramatic years in Chris's life, the only year that really compares to 2014 is 2011. Even the PVCC drama with Mary Lee Walsh or the Greene County incident (the truth about it will be probably remain a mystery forever) don't compare to the house fire and the GameStop incident.

Perhaps not the best year yet, but certainly an intriguing one. My perspective may not be the best since I was only introduced to OPL earlier in 2014.

I don't know if it was the best year for Chris watchers. I think the complete lack of content post-Bob's death made a lot of stuff feel bigger than it was. It started with a bang, ended with a bang but there were a lot of whimpers inbetween. I think we sort of wound up filtering out a lot of stuff (IE the VAST majority of the Sonic Boom shit...hell, it took Chris macing a guy over it before it even got it's own page on the CWCki).

That said it was overall a pretty good year. The Sonic Boom protests were by and large pretty boring, but they had their moments. The Catherine saga was pretty entertaining, and the destruction of Chris' house and the Macing of Gamestop Employee 49 were pretty big. I don't think 2015 can compete.

2014 was the first year I've started following Chris and the Sonic Boom outrage is pretty funny though not as good as previous years.

It was definitely one of the more eventful ones. Losing your home to a fire, piercing your taint, macing people, and possibly getting placed in jail for a long time, things have taken a nosedive for Chris it seems.

You know, some people will hate me for this but I can see people arguing that 2014 was the best year in terms of Chris content. Here's my thoughts:

What made the year interesting is that it was pretty much all Chris. Unless someone isn't telling me something, about 90% of the stuff Chris did wasn't provoked by trolls. It was a bit sporadic but it was just batshit insane yet interesting. People bitch that Chris doesn't make YouTube videos anymore, but personally I actually found most of his Facebook posts to be more interesting than what he could say in a video.

I think it's understood at this point that pretty much everything done before this year was almost always influenced by trolls or at least Chris was nudged into making a video or a comic. But this is Chris just being himself here, something we haven't seen since 2007. Yes, Chris isn't the lovable goof who talked about how he wants to make a Sonichu video game or how he needs to find a wife, not an adolescent in a grown man's body with a confused sexual identity who is foaming with rage at the world.

I figured that Chris would probably end with him being sent to a group home or an institution. Some people proposed jail and I thought that would happen if Chris groped a woman at a very wrong time or him not understanding "no means no" even if she did go on several dates with you, but if you told me that Chris would probably be facing jail time because he was vandalizing property because Sonic's arms were blue would have just puzzled me.

That's not to say that I somehow enjoy that he's become a shell of a man, that his house burned down, that he's burning through money, etc. I think Chris has come to the realization that his life sucks, that his father was a huge part of his life, that he's forced to take care an ailing mother who clearly has untreated mental health and it's not because of the trolls. They're not helping but us talking about Chris here or some weens calling Chris up to tell him he's a fag doesn't change the fact that his mother has serious issues and he's getting nothing out of life and he's not responding well to that.

It's a very different sort of Chris. I remember 2009, at least in terms of Chris content. It was a good year, people didn't bitch about things being hoarded, something was being released every day, people didn't feel compelled to dox the trolls behind the scenes, it was a simpler times then. But this is awful but I sorta liked 2014 because I feel like we finally saw Chris be himself and the results were disturbing.

It's hard to compete with Golden Age content, but 2014 was everything a good sequel should be. Instead of a re-hash of the old material, we got new adventures, new conflicts, a deeper understanding of the characters, and higher stakes. Except it all really happened.

Then again, the cosmic forces guiding Chris seem to subscribe to the Saints Row school of sequels, so I'm cautiously optimistic for 2015.

I wouldn't call it the best, probably one of the most interesting, but a lot of happenings have been really depressing/fucked up. I have to stand with Haesindang Park here, lots of happenings but little lulz and more head-shaking and "god fucking dammit, Chris".

I agree with @champthom this was a great year for chris just being chris. There was largely no troll influence and he just sorta derped his way through the year with amusing results.

It seems more full of surprises. House fire, eBay store, male lesbian, blarms, arrest. All fairly novel out of nowhere.

Previous peaks in Christory were filled with things like this year's Catie adventures. Someone approaches Chris on the internet, Chris reacts to that person oddly. Then that would happen again. Not that those weren't very entertaining, but this year had the advantage of more variety, along with a good old-fashioned sweetheart.

So 2015 is when Chris starts his campaign to become the president, before his surprise election in 2016 with an alien invasion following after?
Shit, I suppose anything is possible, if you'd told me a year ago new Chris content was going to be so frequent and interesting that I'd finally stop lurking and get an account I would have laughed
