You pimp out your watches, bro?

Replace straps and possibly hands is as far as I went thus far.
Watches are infinitely moddable and parts are dirt cheap (nato straps can be had for less than 3$ online)
I've just ordered a green nato strap for my Tevise "hulk" to replace the bracelet

Have you heard of Tressa? I'm not super into watches but these are probably the rarest vintage I've seen in the wild and almost all of their original dials are aesthetic as hell. Here are a few choice ones currently up on Ebay:

Mine is also Casio but analogue with a digital inset. I think I paid about $30 for it at a Zellers that was closing to be converted to a Target (which went out of business in Canada before this particular Target even opened).

It's stainless steel and pretty much all the watch I need.

This kid I knew in school had one of those with an IR blaster built into it.
He would use it to fuck with the teacher by turning the classroom TV off and on, or fuck with the channel or volume if it were on for classroom purposes.

It was pretty funny. She thought the TV was possessed.

Why do you collect wristwatches?

Why do you collect anything?
To have a different one for different occasions and they tend to be decent investments if you go for Swiss or even Japanese ones.
I don't wear any jewelry so having a decent watch can add a lot of style, especially if you wear suits.

Have you heard of Tressa?

Yeah, nice watches although certainly lower end.
They are pretty groovy and not too expensive used.

Those were the greatest thing.

Watches I've given a fuck about owning over the years:
Zelda watch with the game in it
Remote watch as mentioned above
some Soviet pocketwatch given to WWII vets from after USSR collapsed and all their old merch went on clearance

I have a co-worker who is big into the big fucking deal expensive watches.

Just got the Hulk today and switched out the strap for a nato one and did the same with my silver Tevise.
Removing the cyclops is also sensible, I suppose.

anyone remember those LCD wrist watches you get in happy meals sometimes.
I remember there being these little dot-matrix LCD watches you could buy at the store, think they were called C-Watches. The whole gimmick was that they had a little animated character on the screen, and it'd spew these little sayings when you pushed a button or it reached the next hour or its alarm clock went off or whatever. And of course with this being the late 90s, there was the obligatory Pokemon-licensed version. Which I had. And misplaced. And had to deal with the sound of "GET UP, GOTTA CATCH EM ALL" repeating for a minute straight, every single morning, until the battery finally died. Never found out where it was until we moved.
