This is not necessarily about the current political climate, although people with really fanatical beliefs might fall into this category. I'm talking about fill-in-the-blank things like Christian/atheist, you're (un)happily married or otherwise partnered, you love your kids but hate parenting them, etc.

I thought of this tonight when I was at a meetup and a woman was there who, if she were left to her own devices, would talk about nothing but her abusive marriage that she fled in 1972. That is not a typo. NINETEEN SEVENTY-TWO. It takes nonstop redirection to get her to talk about anything else, and this evening, she got started and I said, "You've told me about that, and I don't need to hear it again."

Anyway, does anyone else know of other obsessions they would like to name? These are just a few that come to mind. Fire away!
