I remember Bob and George from way back, as well as In Wily's Defense though it really was obvious the author had run out of ideas when the series abruptly just ended by God nuking everything, only for the "sequel" to...fuck, I don't know how to describe it, but it wasn't good suffice to say.

Looking back on it, I realize during my early high school years I was way too much of a sprite/Mega Man sperg with all the drama I saw go down back then.

I've read Evil Inc for a couple of years, but I'm thinking of dropping it now. During the summer, the artist said releases were going to go from daily to Tues/Thurs only while he spends his vacation time with his kids. This was only supposed to be for two weeks but he's still doing it right now. And he's a fan of doing long storylines.

It also doesn't help that he's putting ads for his patreon all over his site. "Support my patreon and you'll have access to the NSFW comics I do with these characters." Yeah, he does since he got onto that site. He used to have podcasts with him and his kids discussing nerd stuff and now he's trying to pander with porn.

I'm pretty much done at this point. The comic jumped the shark awhile ago for me (the whole introduction of Oliver), but I tried holding on. But I just don't give a damn anymore.

I'm surprised I didn't mention the only web comic I really follow these days - Manly Guys doing Manly Things. A comic about what happens to all those action video game heroes when they need to find work outside of video games. They go to a temp agency.

It's not limited to action games in general - hell, there's a Fist of the North Star joke at one point and one of the main characters is a failed pokemon trainer - but the comic started back in 2010 and rarely does it fail to deliver on a joke. It's even somewhat moved away from exclusively being video game humor to focus more on the elaborate backstory of Commander Badass (guy in the red jacket) every so often, but a Duke Nukem or Kratos or Fabulous Gannondorf joke is never too far away and the original content stuff is just as good so if anything it's keeping everything fresh and new.

It's best to start at the beginning:

It's a favorite of mine as well. The creator really gets how to deliver a solid joke and has reliably gotten a few laughs out of me with pretty much every one. The Poison comic is easily one of the fucking funniest and probably the perfect answer to the likes of Sophie Labelle's horse-shit, as well:

I check for new pages of Manly Guys Doing Manly Things nearly every day. The raptor is my favorite dinosaur but I'll never look at it the same way again because of that comic. Now all I'll see is fabulous murder chickens.

I'm tired. Does The Fabulous Murder Chickens sound like a good name for a band to anyone else?

The only webcomic that I will occasionally read is Penny Arcade. I used to read Cyanide and Happiness, but I kinda forgot about it and haven't read it lately.

That reminded me. I've really missed Perry Bible Fellowship.

Turns out he's making new ones again.

(Among other things, it inadvertently coined the term "weeaboo.")

I used to love Templar, AZ before Spike put it on permanent hiatus to crowdfund her Poorcraft and Smut Peddler series.
I have nothing wrong with either anthology, but getting sucked into the Templar lore and then having comic blue balls for almost a straight year made me pretty salty. :heart-empty:
Otherwise, Octopus Pie is pretty much the only thing I actively follow anymore (with the occasional foray into Slipshine territory and rereading Bobwhite, GWS, and KC Green.)

I've read a large amount of Dominic Deegan because is it so bad. Its entertaining because it is bad in multiple ways. The authors world building is shit, he doesn't know how to balance tone, the main character is a mary sue, the comic is unintentionally sexist and homophobic which is amusing because the author is actually trying to be progressive, and the characters you are supposed to hate end up being the more interesting characters. My favorite characters are Szark, a flamboyant gay stereotype who at one point was an insane murderer, and Stunt, who is a straw man sexist who hates women because he found out his mom had a lesbian affair.

His art encapsulates every negative 'western-style anime' stereotype one could possibly comprehend in a single lifespan.

On the topic of stuff that's actually decent, anybody here read Erfworld or Order of the Stick? I consider the latter to be obscenely good, but the update schedule is currently terrible for reasons I can't quite muster up the effort to discern. Erfworld is pretty damn good as well, but it feels like the author is trying a little bit too hard to craft a highly complex myth arc out of a world that, let's be honest here, is literally built out of pop-culture references.

It's like if someone's knowledge of art came solely from "How To Draw Manga" books.
I've got several of those books myself, and I can safely verify that the authors would be insulted at the level of detail (or complete lack thereof) that goes into the DD series. Any halfway-decent artist could crap out twenty to thirty DD level comics a day, but only if their self-respect had been surgically removed. With a powerdrill.

I finally got around to reading Kill Six Billion Demons.

My greatest regret is that it doesn't update more.

Mookie is the kind of anime style artist that you can give him advice on how to improve his craft and he refuses to listen. Let's not forget annoying puns, Mookie's pathological hatred of jocks (even the one nice one gets shit on), his inability to plan out stories and how Greg started out as an immature, yet decent character who was turned into an obnoxious wanna-be metalhead. I actually cheered when I thought the cat was murdered by that one villainess. I'm not sure if Mookie is still going through his own wanna-be metalhead thing, but it was pathetic. Like how he talked about how a friend who just died of cancer is now "rocking with the metal gods in Vallhalla".

Sadly, I'd consider Mookie's art better than anything Starline X Hodge can do in her webcomic, Candi (the really early stuff was ok). If you like bad webcomics, it's worth a look. Horrid art, an unlikable, selfish and/or immature cast of characters (one (Jessie) is an utter sociopath and another is boarderline (Alex's Grandma)); Linda, who you're supposed to hate is the most sympathetic character (created from the author's resentment over a friend whole stole a boyfriend from her); and the writing is rather boring in spots. The one thing that I can give points is the creator is rather nice.

And that's the sad thing, unlike some other comics out there that attempt to ape the Manga/Anime style (looking at you, MegaTokyo) Mookie's isn't the worst. Don't get me wrong, it's far from being good, or even remotely passable, given it's age and that it's still ongoing.

It's ongoing sort of. It's funny, given how questionable Dominic can be, I could see him becoming a Ravenloft Darklord (along with Kimiko from Dresden Codak).
