The Wisdom of Bassets

It's whatever they need it to be right at that moment. He can be a plotting, scheming mastermind, or he can be a bumbling incompetent moron. He can be a by-the-book christian, or he can be an amoral deviant. He can be a world-famous jet-setting playboy, or he can be a complete nobody who won't be missed.

It never ends with these fucks, and you can't nail them down on anything.
The right way to argue with them is to not argue with them. You go in knowing that they are mentally deficient liars and you talk AT and OVER them, not TO them. You make whatever argument you have to get your point across to the readers. You just use the lobotomite as a prop in making your case/giving your performance.

Because lets face it. Social media is all about the performance, not the facts. If you can get a few facts across at the expense of the lobotomite, then you win.

Is this not just a classic SJW tactic? Let's throw every -ism at someone online and see what sticks? It's shocking to see how many of these people end up being the very thing they crusade against.

Actually, this is rather classic homophobia.
Sabat thinks Vic is gay because fashion. But Sabat is homophobic so he thinks gays are degenerates. And Sabat thinks because gays are degenerates, of course they are also pedophiles.
This is what true homophobia looks like.

EDIT: Look at the arguments made by people who wanted to criminalize homosexuality for the past decades, how many times did they state that they feared for their kids ?

I could be wrong here, but isn't public figure status for defamation not retroactive? You cant just call someone a child raping monster to get them fired and then launch them into public figure status to defend yourself.

He wasnt a public figure before being fired, hes at best limited public figure now that he has been defamed.

Wouldn't that be something!? Well, you weren't a public figure before this, but now that you've been defamed, you're now a limited public figure, therefore let the defamation continue!!!

thats not what a limited purpose public figure is, and the jurisprudence at large says involuntary public figures are exceptionally rare, we're talking about a status thats basically co-extensive with being libel-proof.

I look at it as what Vic losing vs. Vic never bringing the case in the first place, and Vic never bringing the case seems way worse.
That's something important to keep in mind going forward, even if Vic doesn't win everything, he still wins. He's at least got Soye/Rial on lock, Funi isn't escaping either imo - but even if they do, there are still 2nd party shitheads to deal with like Funi's mouthpiece ANN and potential couch-keeper Sabat. Funi's brand gets more tarnished by the day, Toei is eyeing their Spanking-paddle, Sony is an outed WOKE censorious joke (with companies like RT and CR not far behind in the race to the bottom), and now even the hardest of hardcore dub shills are finding reasons to swear off dubs for good and to support Japan at the source.

At the end of the day all of this centers around a general push-back against the SJW co-opting of anime, Vic's lawsuit was just the catalyst for it. Even if he doesn't win everything, this event has done damage to malicious parties and outed animu-licensing for being the incestuous Left-leaning industry it is. While minor antagonists like RT may get out scott free - this case has and is STILL irrevocably damaging Funimation's brand/employees, and is showing Japan that their properties are not in good hands. Never forget that simply spreading the word to normies is probably the best weapon at our disposal. In the best case scenario where Vic cleans house, its a double-win because that court precedence will help many MANY men in the future to stay safe from lying old THOTs.

It's interesting they use his Broly character as what makes him a public figure because he voiced a one-off character 20 times (4 in video, 16 in video games) Yet won't use his 112 episodes as Edward in FMA.

It's because of the numbers. The Broly movie did really good, and the defendant counsels are trying to argue that the movie fame is somehow Vic's fame.
They were even disingenuous enough to bring up the internationnal numbers, you know, because Vic has something to do with people watching Broly in german...

Can anyone even name someone in America who became a celebrity because of voice work (That movie trailer guy MAYBE) ? I would say trying to become famous through voice work is trying to give Sisyphus a run for his money.

I doubt his involvement is irrelevant to Friday's hearing. Someone with experience in immigration projects is going to know a lot about employment law.

BHBH waited to announce his appearance to avoid signaling their strategy.

This man rides to town to put down Funimation.

His resume lines up extensively with BHBH’s general areas of practice. And Ty said they were currently understaffed. He may be joining BHBH.
