I haven't said much about Rial and Soye, because everyone has brought to the table some absolutely jammin' insights and analysis about them, but since Sabat just revealed his stance on this, I can perfectly say with all of my anger and sadness, they're on their own.
With absolute zero cold indifference, I don't even care what happens to Funimation nor the KickVics at this point. They really had to be that goddamn stupid and not just try to gate this shit but get conventions, and the nearby home state grown ones at that.
I'm so sentimental and broken at them, that I can't even act in emotion to give this scandal any human acknowledgement. They didn't just ruin my respect and memories of them but a lot of other long standing fans too. And considering who they've been scapegoating, the shoe is on the other foot now, and we know who the real foes are now.
So for all of you KickVics scouring the net and reading this? You think you know outrage and your world gone upside down? You pampered fools don't even know what a broken pedestal is. I'm so angry that I know better to fill up the net with it because my words won't be enough to contain or express it.
And now, like the rest of life, we have to move on now....

And just like Mark Waid, they've gone for the biggest, shiniest lawyer they could find. Kessler has some 12 full blown lawyers in their commercial litigation specialisation alone.
Kessler's a big ass firm, and the Esteemed Mr Erick is a member of the Millionaire's Advocate Forum, where they're the ones you send to bat if you want, or think your damages are running at $1m+
He's also good at dealing with Tort cases and has spoken at a conference about that very subject.
Now, I do hope he and his firm has been smart and made sure all payments are up front. 'cause boy howdy this is a doozy of a case as is and it'll be fun watching him now try and deal with people that probably need a sippy cup to drink.

Good work. A lot of threads on KF will only have the most initial stuff in the OP and expect you to read through hundreds of pages to get caught up on the new players and events. You've done a good job of keeping the OP up to date enough that someone coming in now could get a reasonable idea of where things currently stand, even if it's a wall of text so big it gives Trump a stiffy.

Noticed on my rewatch of Nick's stream that someone from Anime Vegas sent a superchat asking Nick to get in touch with them, but when I tried to do a search it looks like their last convention was in 2013 and Vic's last appearance was 2010.

I've spent the last couple of hours just thinking about what Rackets said in his last stream and its just. It seems every day I say "We still have not hit bottom for how stupid these people can get". Yet here I am saying it again. Every day. Every single day I am blown away by how mind numbingly stupid these people are. Its been known for WEEKS lawyers are involved and 6 figures in legal funds have been raised. We know that THEY know because they bitched about it! And yet 5 days ago, Chris Sabat and Monica Rial pull a Mark Waid and bitch out a convention. For fucks sake they can't even argue they didn't know about the contract because apparently the Con TOLD THEM they had a contract and they continued to inerfere Anyway! Even that potato Shane Holmberg managed to grasp that this proves TI with a contract (I think) during his humiliation on Rackets' show. Worse, as part of their TI they reveal a civil conspiracy (by tag teaming the Con) and resorting to extortion demands to get their way. They didn't do this back in February, they did this last week!
It's even dumber. They didn't bitch out the Convention 5 days ago. 5 days ago the convention started to go off the reservation and re-invited Vic. YESTERDAY they bitched out the Con Owner for 3 hours. YESTERDAY! Tuesday! After they already admited that they had started getting Legal Demand Letters. They all got demand letters that they preserve all communications regarding Vic Mignogna in th epast few days. Monday at the latest. So Tuesday they create a digital communications stream and record of them bullying a convention into violating it's contract with Vic.
I don't think there is a word for just how fucking retarded these morons are. We need a new word for concentrated high level stupidity. The ones we have are insufficient.

We are definitely going to see a lawsuit this week. Ty has probably held off because these morons are constantly giving him more and more rope. At this point though he now knows the effort to undermine vics career has not stopped and the demand letters are being ignored. He just needs to get a sworn statement from the Con owner and then get this all in front a judge with a demand for an emergency injunction that orders all these idiots to stop talking about Vic to anyone.
Behind the scenes because they've basically been caught committing a crime, never mind slam dunking their current legal issues for the plaintiff.
