I can't really watch the video where I am right now, but I was under the impression Mega64 mostly survived off of merchandise sales, collaborations with companies or advertisers, and their regular outside jobs. Was Rooster teeth paying them for something?
I'm not really privy on what the relationship Mega64 and Rooster Teeth was.

The Frontlines of the Weeb Wars (aka the TL;DR Edition)

The Convention Front
- Nick Rekieta reported that Vic Mignogna set a record at HawaiiCon for having the first signing line at the convention:

The Social Media Front
- Our very own @damian received a copyright strike for uploading the Evan Stone campaign video (featuring Chris Sabat as Vegeta) with Japanese subtitles (provided by @ManateeHunter) by Funimation's IP lawyer himself:
Well well well. Something interesting happened when I was uploading something to my archive channel. For those of you not aware I uploaded a copy of Evan Stone's Election video but in full Japanese text including Japanese subtitles provided by our very own @ManateeHunter.

Seems 3 days ago Funimation issued a manual copyright take down:
View attachment 950079

And even better look who it was that filed it personally:
View attachment 950081

Funnily enough they only targeted my Jap version of his video:
View attachment 950083

Really makes you go

Oh well guess I'm gonna have to take it down. :^)
- Rooster Teeth attempted an augmented reality advertisement for CowChop (one of the many subgroups in Rooster Teeth) that caused many users to show concerns of potential fraud or identity theft. One user took to reddit and posted their concerns and frustrations about it. This led to a response from moderators, the Director of Marketing himself, Nathan Isherwood, and the Vice President of Marketing, Eric Duncan :
As noted, these responses received a backlash from Rooster Teeth subscribers and fans.

- Cody Baier of Anime Outsiders posted a reddit post regarding a string of layoffs happening at Funimation:
This led to Nick Rekieta to retweet it and ridicule Anime News Network for not covering this information when it first appeared:
Christopher Macdonald, the CEO of Anime News Network, responded and exchanged tweets with Rekieta:
The conversation also brought in Jennifer Lynn Hunt, of all people:

- Mad Black Atheist is going to interview Ron Toye on October 2nd, the same day as the mediation is allegedly going to take place:

UPDATE: The interview has been moved to Saturday, October 5th.
UPDATE (10/05/2019): At 2:01:35, Ron Toye notified Mad Black Atheist that he was celebrating Monica Rial's birthday and could not do the interview.

Oh and by the way when we left at 4:00 he seemed to pretty much have the only line left there. I mean it was impressive even for a smaller venue than your typical con. Fucking great, man.
I didn't notice it before but your pic looks like he used a giant black fuzzy caterpillar for a nose ring.

Dang.

https://truthout.org/articles/amid-animes-metoo-moment-right-wing-fans-are-attacking-survivors/
The article regurgitates KickVic talking points and attacks Mignogna, but also Nick Rekieta and Ty Beard.
Members of KickVic circulated the article on Twitter.

- A reddit user with username NaiaVox accused voice actor Robbie Daymond of sexual misconduct:
(courtesy of @OneHandClapping):
The comment elicited similar responses that started the beginning of Weeb Wars:
Robbie Daymond was at ShadoCon 2016:
Now, it seems his handler for the event called out NaiaVox:
UPDATE (10/11/2019):
NaiaVox's account was deleted from reddit (courtesy of @Wilhelm Bittrich):
However, an account called "NaiaVox2" claimed to be the same person as the original refuted the claims stated and apologized to everyone, especially Daymond:
This led to some of the initial reactors to apologize, too (courtesy of @Dr. Geronimo):
Daymond himself made a tweet that referenced the turn of events:
And he gained support:

Slight correction: it was not the appeal itself, rather Ty filed a "Notice of Appeal" which is a required first step stating that you intend to appeal. At least as far as I can tell.

I was going to edit my post to include this, but today's interference prevented me to do so (plus I had IRL responsibilities to care of on top of that).
