Were the High School Galpals good for Chris? -

The best time in Christians life was when some teenage girls let him sit with them at lunch and listened to him ramble on. They, along with the villainous Mary Lee Walsh were the real changes from high school to college. Chris now spends his life chasing the same kind of lifestyle he had when he was in high school. Looking for galpals who will let him close and tolerate him.

Would Chris have this expectation if the high school galpals just ignored him like most people? He likely would not consider himself an expert with the ladies, and may have harassed less women. Then again, without any kind of positive life experience he could just have ended up more angry and bitter.

Did having galpals hurt or help Christian throughout life?

The galpals let the weirdo with the fanny pack interact with them. That's as close as Chris will ever come to having a real relationship so I say that they helped him. If Chris didn't have fondful memories of eating lunch with his galpals he wouldnt have fondful memories of anything... except perhaps being a complete nuisance at da Game Place... and we all know how that turned out.

Chris harassed women because he studied them in porn and anime and found this "educational" because he doesn't know the difference between reality and fantasy.

Back then he was a sweet and weak loser and wasn't the pervert he is now. I can see why some girls would befriend him, but if they knew what Chris would expect from them after high school (i.e. hanky panky) they would have never gone near him.

There ya go. The gal-pals weren't enough to steer him, but at least they were real girls showing him how real girls interacted. Even if he misunderstood it, it was worlds better than whatever he learned by watching porn, Family Guy, RomComs, and Anime.

The first thing Chris needed in life was proper guidance from his parents, but a very close second would be real interactions with people outside his family.

it also might be a major reason why he thinks people should just come up to him and befriend him. they were probably coaxed by a teacher or guidance counselor to "sit with the lonely kid" at lunch.
i mean outside of that or that one documented birthday, was there any other interaction between them? probably not.

That could be part of it. Then again, his laziness and his ignorance of how to get into a relationship to begin with are probably bigger reasons.

oh i was thinking stuff like that would be the genesis of it. like, he was well into college when he decided he needed to begin a love quest. and his little experience with women (the gal pals) left him thinking that girls would just show up someday wanting to be his sweetheart.

You have a point.

Then he decided making an attraction sign was a good idea, which is one of the funniest parts of Christory.

so the gal pals were good for us all then

Well, If he hadn't had those galpals maybe he wouldn't have that stupid idea that all women are saintly creatures, while all men are the opposite.
Maybe he would've realised that women can be JERKS too.

I think that's where it could've come from, since the group of girls were the only ones who tolerated his crap enough to let him sit with them at lunch. It's a good thing that he wasn't into the Fuck Quest back then.

Essentially, this.

The question really isn't "were the gal-pals good for him" so much as it is "does Chris recognize that they were good for him." The answer there is yes and no. When pressed, Chris will admit that Manchester High was not the Elysium he so often makes it out to be, and because of that, he values the scant time that anyone so much as said "hello" to him. That said, on the other hand, thanks to the triple-threat that is his autism, isolated formative years, and warped version of sex ed, Chris incorrectly values it; he interprets female friendship as but a step toward the horizontal tango. And any girl who doesn't see it that way is in for an earful about the horrors of virginity and the unreasonable prices for prostitutes.

It's amazing how even fortunate events like young ladies even bother to talk to him and turn them into failure.

i mean has there been anything at all he's done that hasn't ended in failure or contributing to failure?

While I don't blame the high school galpals for what Chris has become, I don't think they helped him too much. They didn't give Chris any indication of the fact that they hung out with him mainly out of pity (I'm guessing this was deliberate on the part of the girls so that Chris won't be offended) and this led him to grossly overestimate his chances of having romantic success with non-autistic women. To quote one of his posts from Tomboys And Tomgirls of Virginia, written around April 2011:

Growing up, I have had mostly female friends. I was considerably blessed, yet I still lack the virgin-breaker moment. The close friendships were great, and I really appreciated them in my heart forever. I really should have tried to get further, but before 21, I was naive on the subject of dating. There Really should be a manditory [sic] dating education class alongside sex ed.

So as late as 2011 Chris still believed that the only reason he didn't pair up with his any of his past galpals was due to lack of trying. Then again, we have to remember that the entire relationship with his galpals is told to us through Chris's eyes. Maybe the girls were more open with Chris about the nature of their relationship with him and Chris just doesn't let us know about it because he's lying about the past or misremembering it.

Would Chris's life would have turned out different had the high school girls acted differently (assuming that they were indeed concealing from Chris the fact that they hung out of him due to pity)? Hard to say. There were plenty of other influences in Chris's life that were far more destructive than those girls, such as porn and pop culture (two things which Chris massively consumes and sees as an accurate reflection of reality), his parents, the Manchester High school administration and more. Still, if the girls would have been more open with Chris than maybe his situation nowadays would have been slightly better.

When you mean more open, I'm assuming you meant if the girls were more honest about their feelings towards Chris. I think the high school galpals were good for Chris for his social interaction though a tiny bit. I'm saying that to be fair here so I don't make myself look like an A-logger. But I also think the relationship with the galpals skewed his perception about girls as sweet and friendly. His irrational hatred for men and his obsession with females are the biggest factors, in my opinion, that skewed his perception even further hence he tends to act very feminine, more like creepy, than masculine though ironically he thinks of himself as the most masculine of all masculine males. Granted that I make gay innuendos and even act gay when using innuendos but I wouldn't go as far as to do the tomgirl crap he does.

Perhaps, but the fact that the girls merely just sat with him at lunch cemented his many misconceptions of how relationships work--he really thought they were great friends just because they kept him company at lunch and didn't interact with each other elsewhere, except his birthday party.

i don't remember who made it, but the panorama pic of that birthday is so telling of their relationship with chris. they're all crammed on one couch as he opens his kiddie presents, and their expressions of just waiting to leave.

I agree with those who say the gal pals, while utterly blameless, did unintentionally cement Chris's barb inflicted delusions of how relatiopnships and "attracting da china" works. Personally though, i am near certain that even if they entirely ignored and avoided him he would have been brought up with a nightmarishly fucked up view of women. Hell, maybe without the delusions of being highly attractive and interesting and the forlorn hopes of china his gal-pals gave him, he would have become utterly embittered towards all women for ignoring and rejecting him, as well as his mother for "lying to him", thus causing him to go full loveshy instead.

And to be honest, going full loveshy is probably the only likely way Chris can get any worse right now

Chris was but a schoolgirl's pity away from going full loveshy.

Jesus, imagine what a loveshy sonichu would be like, it would be like if Billy the Heretic was a furry comic written by an autistic Fschmit
