Wesley Willis (May 31, 1963 - August 21, 2003) was and singer-songwriter/outsider visual artist from Chicago who gained a cult following in the 90's for his bizarre, humorous, and often obscene songs about riding the bus, going to rock shows, getting beat up by superheroes, and telling some to perform oral sex on animals. He would usually end each song with yell rapping some corporate slogan or jingle.

Here are my top 5 Wesley Willis songs:

5. Suck A Panda's Dick

4. I Murdered Your Family

3. My Mother Smokes Crack Rocks

2. They Threw Me Out Of Church

1. Chronic Schizophrenia

Here are some documentaries to give you some more info about the man:

Wesley Willis is one of my favorite artists. He truly is savant garde.

My favorites from him are My Mother Smokes Crack Rocks, Rock 'n Roll McDonald's, Retard Bus, and They Threw Me Out Of Church.

RIP Wesley :heart-empty:

Wes would definitely not have been a Lolcow!
He had people troll and patronise him in person and responded with grace.
Not sure if this documentary was included - but it's the better of the bunch that have been made.
Here's some early Wesley!
"In 1989 I recorded Wesley on a cheap hand held cassete recorder that I brought into Genesis Art Supplies to tape industrial sounds for a mix i was making.....just for the heck of it."

I love listening to Wesley Willis when I'm driving as a sort of therapy, it's impossible to feel road rage no matter how fucktarded other drivers are being when WW is blasting on your radio.

I saw some of his drawings at Intuit! (outsider art) gallery last year as a part of their “Chicago artists” showcase and they’re really beautiful. They had some that I had never seen before, and his linework and ability to draw from observation were really incredible. Shame that when he was touring with AT people treated him like a cheap minstrel show. Dude had demons for sure but was seriously talented. Shame he was slinging his art for fives and tens outside of bars.
