it's not the fact that "life is suffering" as much as the fact that humans will take that suffering and make it orders of magnitude worse for almost no reason at all. e.g., humans will choose hedonistic nihilism if given the slightest chance over self restraint unless a physical or psychological gun is pointed at them because 2 minutes of a dopamine rush is worth a ruined entire career at best or life in jail and 100 dead bodies at worst, not to mention everything in between those. and that's just what a single human is capable of.
