I was afraid of a picture book (won't fucking name it) as a child that I would often see in classrooms, the illustrations of such freaked me tf out.
So how did I cure it? Well, I started realizing that I can jerk off to the main character, considering she's a girl. So...it all worked out in the end.

Used to be afraid of the dark, but I guess I just grew out of it.
I was afraid of deep water when I was a kid because I thought I'd sink and couldn't swim back up. One time I was [floating] on my back at a pool when I realized I had drifted off into the deep end. I quickly figured out my fear of the deep had "trolled" me.

When I was little I was afraid of horror iconography, so I just jumped headfirst into it in my tween years and became obsessed with it. Throughout my adolescence I became fascinated with violence and gore and also the rawer, shittier aspects of human nature. Nowadays stuff doesn't really phase me and I'm genuinely surprised whenever someone else comments about how disturbed they are about certain stuff in media.
This bit's a tangent but I feel like I'm super desensitized to most stuff. It's hard to describe but IRL I've had people snap at me and have had no change to myself, as opposed to when I've witnessed people be visibly affected by me not following social mores. Like it takes me a second to process they're actually genuinely angry or upset as opposed to just doing a bit or something.

Used to be afraid of: Quicksand. The idea of a slow, inevitable suffocating death was terrifying.
Got over it by: Reading about it, watching videos showing how it works and its actual danger (it cannot swallow and suffocate you, it can only get you stuck), finding out that furries jerk off to the idea of getting stuck in it.

Spiders. I wasn't scared of them when I was a kid, even ate one to gross people out, but now I scream like a fucking preteen girl if I see one.

I too hate spiders, something just isn't right about how they move. Too fast for so many legs.
I was forced to put my arachnid aversion aside because my wife turns into a characature of the typical feminine fear of bugs when she sees one.
She will quite literally drop what she's doing, yell "Honey, there's a spider!", and hide behind me as I decide whether or not to kill or relocate the dammed little arachnid.
I'm a guy and turn into a caricature of typical feminine fear if I see a spider in the house.
Also, always kill them. The majority of spiders you'll see in your house won't be able to survive outdoors, so it's better to just splat them rather than letting them starve to death outside/come straight back in. I hate the creepy little fuckers, but I'm not a monster.
