I forgot to add Coachella on the list. It was fun seeing Iggy and the Stooges and the Chili Peppers but wow, it's overrated, hot and annoying.
Also the Coachella performance I went to was used in the music video for RHCP's Universally Speaking song.
I remember seeing that dude in that video dancing around on the stage.

I can only think of three, but there's likely one or two more I've forgotten over the years. In alphabetic order by main act:
  • Bash -N- The Code,
  • Journey (with Foreigner as the opening act), and
  • Village People (with the Trammps).

I'm still young, so the list might grow.

A TV event full of people that used to be trendy in 2011 (Pitbull, Natalia Kills, Jedward etc. 13-year old me was excited about it; in hindsight it wasn't that great, to say the least).
Empire Of The Sun, also 2011.
Rihanna, 2016 (Not a fan, was dragged into it by a friend.).
Melanie Martinez out of sheer curiosity, 2016. She let us wait for an hour for some reason. My friend and I left after 15 minutes and got Burger King. That was neat.
Cigarettes After Sex, last year.
Nine Inch Nails, last June. Best concert I've been to so far.

I might see Powerwolf in two months.

On one hand, the Mastodon/Dinosaur Jr. tour got cancelled, but I've got Guerilla Toss, Iceage, Yo La Tengo and Cat Power to look forward to over the coming weeks.

Went and saw Judas Priest two times this year during their Firepower tour:
One was back in March when they performed at the Masonic Temple and the other was at the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre in August. Got a good view from a hill.

Anthrax, Metallica,Megadeth, Slayer
Iron Maiden
Money's been a little tight to do much since 2014 or so, but that's most of them.

MGMT once, Death Grips, twice. Both in Philly. Threw myself into the mostpit for an hour or so both times. Watched a drunk guy in a Wu Tang shirt attempt to crowd surf fall flat on his face cause the people couldn't support his large build. I was also fucked up on Gabapentin and Klonopin, lit up a pre-rolled blunt just as they came on stage, gave the roach to a random, and immersed myself in the pit. The first show was great (if not as interesting, aside from the kind stoner we met at the train station who smoked me up), but the second show was one of the most transcendent experiences i've ever had. I'm keeping an eye out for Tommy Wright III to return to Philly, missed him the past two times due to financial and transportation constraints but third time's the charm, right?...

I've never been to any decent concerts. Just some crappy afterparty type of thing at another event where they charged about 15 bucks as a cover and had a few no name punk acts in a venue where the equipment would fail half the time. I wouldn't mind going to a real concert one of these days just to say I did at least once in my life, but honestly I like wasting my money on things like expensive booze more than on music, which I just pirate.

Comparing pirated mp3 files to skilled live concerts is like comparing chicken nuggets to a kobe beef steak you heathen

I grew up in California, though I haven't lived there in quite a long time. When I lived there, it was the height of 3rd Wave ska bands, swing revival bands, and various pop-punk and hardcore bands. Tix were fairly cheap, like $15 or so at the door for 3-5 bands. I went to a lot of concerts back then, probably 40-60 a year. So I saw pretty much every notable band on the west coast in those genres at one point or another; some of them, like Save Ferris or Cherry Poppin' Daddies, I probably saw 5 or 6 times.

I've also been to a fair number of festivals over the years: Lollapalooza once, Warped Tour 4 or 5 times, and several other festivals over the years, both local and regional. Most recently, I went to the IHeartRadio music festival, which I suppose reflects how my music tastes have changed a bit over the years.

All together, I've probably been to hundreds of concerts over my life, but a selection of notable bands I can think of off-hand:

Smashing Pumpkins
RATM
Pearl Jam
Eminem
AFI
No Doubt
Blink 182
Green Day
The Offspring
Bad Religion
Social Distortion

Most recently, I've been more into seeing bands from the 70's and early 80's, I guess out of some interest in making sure I get to see them once before they retire/die. In the last couple years, I've seen Stevie Nicks, Elton John, and The B-52's, among others.

Can add that I got to catch Tommy Wright in Philly at the Voltage Lounge back in November. Absolutely phenomenal show, the man has more energy than most musicians half his age. Real cool guy too, shot the shit with me after the show (he loved the bootleg TWIII shirt i had on) and even invited me to a possible video shoot in the future.
