I was going to say something similar. In the UK Tango does a Watermelon variety, and I stupidly bought a crate of 36 because it looked nice, and fancied a change from Lilt or Bitter Lemon (it's 3 crates of 36 mix and match at my local cash and carry) and it's still sitting in my shed nearly 6 months later. It really tastes and smells like solvent.

I'm embarrassed to admit this but that watermelon Mountain Dew is pretty good.

Make watermelon syrup out of a watermelon+lime juice+sugar+pinch salt (puree in blender). Strongly flavored to taste. Put 3/4 cup in a tall glass plus 1 can of club soda. It's good with mint leaves too.
