The underlying purpose of the defund/abolish-the-police movement is consolidation of progressive political power. Actual police abolition, as some radical leftists / anarchists envision, could only occur with the abolition of the modern state, which would result in vigilante justice, revenge killings and an overall drastic reduction in the quality of life for everyone. Naturally, the progressive political establishment has no interest in actually abolishing the police because it would immediately result in forfeiting any claim to authority. Indeed, any politician campaigning on defunding or abolishing the police is just demonstrating the incredible lengths he'll go to blatantly lie to his base to seem like a radical agent for change.

What is likely to come from this police abolition movement? Any change will likely be cosmetic to placate activist leadership with perhaps amendments to the rules of engagement, but I see a few possibilities in which policymakers can change society.

Firstly, an ideological remaking of the police force. If restructuring would enable departments to fire political wrongthinkers and replace them with ideologues and loyalists, this process would transform law enforcement into a bizarre form of progressive commissariat. This reform would likely work towards directly decriminalizing certain property and drug crimes in certain geographical areas to artificially equalize arrests between Black and White communities. Consequently, this would drastically increase the crime rate. Equally likely is that reporting of crimes within a given area will be suppressed until it is impossible to avoid the fact that the reform movement left more Black lives dead.

This outcome will likely lead to the full federalization of the police force. This highly convenient arrangement for Democrats takes responsibility away from Democrat-ruled municipalities and puts it with the Feds who still have some Republican patsies to blame things on. Even without the Republicans, Federal bureaucracies will be very hard to be held accountable for specific abuses since problems that occur in inner cities will be attributed to policies and systems designed to control order on a national scale. I speculate here that bureaucrats will ramp up police powers across the board in the hope that they could possibly fix things in the Black communities where problems emerge. This in fact incentives police brutality. The members of police that are most willing to get involved in mass crime ridden zones are those who tend be more violent and sociopathic, instead of those who are peaceable and empathetic. This results in more action being taken against police brutality, then local police becoming more ineffective, then crime rates increasing, and so on.

Progressive spokespeople want a homogenization of the problem with other abstract issues like "racism" however they choose to define it. They want top-down oversight where it is never clear who is responsible for anything, and where a solvable problem is converted into a driver for more spending and political capital. The red team is made accountable to the blue team, or replaced with the blue team altogether. The result: increasing progressive political capital, while restraining their ideological enemies.

Private corporate police forces is what it's going to lead to, which is going to be an even bigger nightmare.

That's the hidden hand behind all this Marxist crap, it's simply the corporate world declaring war on the world's governments to strip mine them of any power so the corporations can replace them entirely.

The next step after the police will be the military, this is why they're also pushing Woke/Marxism in the military, purposely weakening it so they can replace it with Blackwater style PMCs.

The future is less government plus more and more corporate power, as insanely ironic as it is Marxism is just another tool of capitalism to secure more profit, it's all one great big fat scam.

I can't give a winner sticker here, but winner.

I 100% agree and believe that the removal of the state-funded police, is so that citizens have to purchase security detail like in South Africa, Pakistan et al and it will work like health insurance (for the yanks). "Make sure you pay your protection insurance, citizen, we wouldn't want accidents to happen to your family, do we?"

I have a conspiracy theory that the 2008 crash was the turning of the tide on the war of govt vs business. Business effectively robbed govt's of power (a retaliation for patriot act) and the scamdemic is another nail in the coffin of govt.
