I'm always going to see SSSniperWolf whenever I look up the word "xianxia" on YouTube now, because one of her newer videos is by far the most viewed piece of English xianxia content.

I enjoy watching Steven Universe, but that minority in the fan base that is ridiculously loud and vocal kinda makes me ashamed to admit that.
The creators have also gotten into some wacky shenanigans over the years too. Rebecca Sugar isn't exactly the most mentally stable individual, but her fanbase is somehow worse.

Yeah, this is one case where I compartimentalize the art from the artists.

EDIT - and on that note, I loved Night in the Woods when I played it on the Xbox and I had no idea what kind of people developed it.

This guy on DeviantArt named finkfly90 wrote a Xenoblade Chronicles 2 fanfic that consists of nothing but Pyra getting tickled. I searched his username and found out that he also has an account on Diapered Anime, where he did a 30-page RP with some other guy where Nia and Pyra soil themselves in diapers and do other baby-related things. Now I don't think I can ever play Xenoblade Chronicles 2 without thinking about dirty diapers ever again (Which is a shame, because I was sort of thinking of getting back into it lately).

Not one specific cow, but ever since nerd hobbies started getting hijacked by SJWs (they're cows so it counts), certain ones just leave a bad taste in my mouth and a Pavlovian response of not wanting anything to do with it because I've started seeing and associating it with those kind of people.

5e D&D is the big one for me. From what I've read, the mechanics of the game are sound, if a bit bland and basic (I come from 3.5 and Pathfinder) and it's the latest edition everyone seems to be playing. Holy shit though it has been completely steamrolled over by turboautists, dangerhairs, soyfaced goons who have turned a fun tabletop game into another one of their political platforms. I want nothing to do with it now.

I haven't read 5e so what have these guys done exactly to D&D to make it so bad?

Communism. Particularly the history of communist nations. Whenever I read about the Soviet Union, there's that nagging thought in the back of my head that in about 70 years, Phil is gonna see that and be like "this is mine. "

The game's core rules by itself are good, but the game attracted a huge fanbase of hipsters, SJW's, soyboys, and dangerhairs because of things like Critical Role and the "Geek is Chic" trend of the 2010's.

As such, Wizards of the Coast has been making a lot of public statements and releasing modules and supplements to pander to that crowd. Fortunately, most of the 5E supplements are modules, so you could run a 5e game with just the core rules and be fine, but the game attracts a lot of dangerhair types, SJW's, and bugmen.

IIRC, there was one supplement that turned the city of Waterdeep from Forgotten Realms into some high fantasy version of 2010's Portland.

D&D 5E is a decent game (I still prefer AD&D or 3.5/Pathfinder though) but it has a horrid fanbase and I'm hesitant to play a D&D 5E game unless I know the DM personally or if it's a home game and not at a gaming store or convention.

It's sort of like how World of Darkness is awesome despite being infamous for the more toxic elements of its fanbase, but unlike the World of Darkness games, D&D 5E is the best-selling edition of the best-selling RPG of all time, and it's spilling over into the wider hobby.

Overall, I'm going to stick with D&D 3.5, OSR games, or Pathfinder if I want my D&D fix.

It means you're growing up. I'll add Socialism onto that list - too many people in my country right now are really fucking around thinking this shit is feasible. Communism is worse, but neither is good. All I can tell these people? Pull yourself up and get over yourselves, already. Because nothing in life is free - everything must be earned, one way or another. Everything!

Otherwise, liking literally any mainstream media, especially Pokemon. Luckily the franchises I like are still mostly safe. :optimistic:

I mean, it's not even that i like communism (I don't. ) but just those countries have such a rich and interesting history, that I like to study them.

Twilight Sparkle's Secret Shipfic Folder. It was a dumb card game I liked because it lampooned bad fanfiction and Chris Chan had to sink his meathooks into it.

I was considering this dress for myself, but since I’ve seen Jude wear it, it’s lost a lot of appeal to me sadly.
