He thinks he's a master at gaming, but in reality, he sucks.
It reminds me of Mases who runs zeldadungeon.net who's also a big Megaman fan, and he considers himself a big expert, although he has never played most of the Megaman games, and he even tried doing MM5 on a live stream and got three game overs before even finishing the robot masters... and MM5 is one of the easiest in the series... AND the enemies drop 1ups like candy.

Depends on the game. On one hand, here's him doing pretty damn good at Guitar Hero.

He was only good at games because he poured hundreds of hours (and dollars) into just two or three games. This is how he was (apparently) good at Geetar Hero.
If the game only requires Chris to do the same thing over and over again until the game itself relents, Chris is mediocre.
If the game requires skill or strategy, he's pretty bad.

Sorry to sound A-Loggy, but he sucks royal at Soul Calibur. I can't even imagine him playing the game other than to just use it as a way to battle easy mode Mary Lee Walsh for hours on end. Or create big breasted bootylicious broads to fight to the death for his amusement as CPU players.
I think the better question would be how many games chris actually plays or how many hours (or minutes) he plays a game before he just stops playing it.
From what i have seen, Chris's gaming skill is rather mediocre. If the game requires repetition Chris can beat it, but if it needs skill or strategy then Chris will not be able to beat it or tries to brute force it until either he or the game wins.

From what I've seen (which is all I can go by)...
Chris is capable of playing, and playing well, games that reward 'free time'.
If you're an older dude, Chris' access to free time is like having access to unlimited quareters while playing Gauntlet or TMNT The Arcade Game. It trivializes it.
Something like Guitar Hero where wrote memorization and repitition can carry you far.
He otherwise excels at games designed for children. Specifically games that are expecting to accomodate the co-ordination and cognative abilities of a child.
As far as playing a reflex oriented game? Forget about that.
The highest tiers of Guitar Hero and Rock Band are that demanding, but he isn't in that rarified air. He's playing the same Bob Segar song for the 500th time. It's not 'reacting'.
Even on pure strategic thinking, his storied career in Pokemon CCG and Yu Gi Oh, where he'd play with wonton disgregard for tactics and invariably lose unless he was matched with someone doing the same (i.e. little kids).
That's not all there is to games, but for me personally that's what I'd acknowledge as skill. Manual dexterity and quick wits. These are not words to describe Chris.
