Anime is a direct offshoot of this backwards "people". It is a form of story telling with no room for actual human emotion or subtlety. Everything about it is buffo (but utterly devoid of the virtue one might find in opera, from whence the term comes). Only the basest, stupidest, most degenerate scum of western society would look at anime and think "hey this is something that I both like, and want to advertise to the world".
Simple rule of thumb: if you think anime is anything other than the vilest degenerate known to man, you should kill yourself. The human race will thank you for it.
