What is with all the Subway hate? -

I ain't gonna lie, I love their chicken teriyaki. Even beyond that, where I live there's no other options for subs like that.

That's my problem too. 0 mom and pop sandwich joints for at least thirty miles.


That aside, Subway is usually my go-to if I'm on a roadtrip and want food that isn't a burger and fries.
-Bland and could be better, but they've always been fairly well kept and the employees bathe often enough. Especially true of the ones along the main roads, I tend to not go too far off route.

Subway is more nostalgia for me. I enjoyed the spicy italian as a kid and sometimes I really crave that artificial bread taste. I have tried a lot of their newer offerings and I dont think any of them are even remotely good. The garlic bread was one of the worst things I have eaten period, and the pulled pork was a sad imitation. I have yet to try their breakfast but I doubt I will get around to it.

I wouldnt be sad if Subway went under, but venturing out on my own after school it saved my ass with its cheap footlongs.

They did manage to bankrupt Quiznos while on their expansion spree, however, so at least we can thank them for putting an end to the ads with the baby who thinks with an adult man's voice.

No price is worth Quiznos going bankrupt. I loved Quiznos. Only downside was around 2009, their sandwiches were the prices that Subway is now. It was expensive.

Low grade food at high prices. I would rather go to the Viennese sub places here or get a donair. It's about the same price with better quality ingredients. Hell, I can go to the local grocery store and pay $10 for a massive sub sandwich that takes me two days to eat.

Also every time I go into a subway to try some new limited item, they are always out. Tired of their shitty bait and switch tactics. Take the damn window decal down, Pajeet.

Where I live it's much better to go to any random small grocery store and buy a hero if they have Boar's Head. Boar's Head cold cuts are the shiet. Not sure if it's available in the whole country and other countries though.

The stores are fairly large, the options are plentiful, but their cookies are a bit stale.

Then again, I always go for meatball sub. And their 90 second pizza.

Subway is a fine choice for when you just worked a 12 hour day outside and you just want a gross meatball and pepperoni sub to eat while watching Ann Reardon or RedLetterMedia on Youtube in the dark while your dog watches you.
The real criminal in the whole “places that have gone down in quality over the years” is Panera bread but we still act like they’re classy when the reality is your paying $9 for a sandwich that you’ll need to buy 2 of them because they’re small and you’re fucking hungry. At least with Subway you can feel like a gross fat fuck for under $10.

You’ll get a better loaf of bread from a local baker for less money than the frozen dough turd that came off a truck that was cooked in a Panera oven.

I can get 2 subs for $5 which is pretty good. I only get basic cold cut subs that can't be screwed up too much and give me the runs. I know the meat is all turkey-based crap, but that's the cheap meat I buy at stores anyway. And the nice lady always gives me a free cookie with it.

Boar's Head is overpriced to the heavens. You know that turkey only cost your deli approx $2.00 a lb, right? If you want a good deli turkey, Mrs Ressler's is it. And because it doesn't have that "coveted" name, your deli will part with it much cheaper than a 400% markup.

But, on subject, Subway isn't that bad, if that's all you can get. Honey oat with tuna is good stuff.

I think the real issue here is the improper bread cutting technique. You all will think I'm crazy but the way they used to cut their bread meant you could get more stuff in. Meatball subs used to average 4-5 meatballs and now if you get 4 it's a miracle.

just get something from the next bakery if you need it on the go...

making a snack sub at home is realy easy, get a sub you have to bake for some time, cut it open, ad cold cuts and all other stuff you need to get rid of from the fridge, some pizza cheese, some sauce(what every you have) and bake it till the bread is dark brown and crispy...
