Yeah that was pretty much my point, or as a critic of the "surveillance state" (which wasn't even one of the core tenants of 1984's message) by libtards and conservative pundits - again both of which he didn't like at-all. When you become "unable" to criticize something because for some reason it does not need to play by the same rules. Religion is a good example. It should be treated just the same as any other conviction, ideology or opinion. Wearing a hijab because its your religion or because you think it looks cool, doesn't matter.
