I know Chris became a Tomgirl he listened to alot of Katy Perry and made that new album of him singing back in 2011. What music has he been listening to as of lately though. I know he has two IOS devices. I wonder how much he spends on iTunes with his :tugboat: . I wish he would make a Spotify account so we could see what he listens too.

I think the answer to this is and always will be: Whoever the most popular 17-year-old girl singing songs for 12-year-old girls is at the moment. Britney Spears back in 2000, I don't know who today.

Whatever was popular in gay bars 5 years ago. So along with the above-mentioned Katy Perry, he should also be into Lady Gaga by now.

Chris really is a time capsule for everything crappy about the late 1990s. He pretty much picked up the torch that VH-1 dropped.

Well I suppose I better get this out the way as per epicween protocol

Honestly though Im surprised he hasnt latched onto whatever teen/tween singer is currently in the vogue. I woulda thought that becoming obsessed with someone like miley cyrus in her "prime" would have been an obvious step for him, but on the other hand he has always displayed a suprising lack of interest with IRL celebs and music

He's most likely still listening to local radio stations, and keeping up with the few pop stars he was into back in high school. Based on a lot of his recent activity, Katy Perry seems to be his new flavor-of-the-month.

I really can't see Chris trippin' and listening to 80s Neon classics like Til Tuesday - Voices Carry or "Video Killed the Radio Star" or "Love Shack."

He really should go through Bob's records. Going through ones old collection is epic if you're a nostalgic.

I think we aren't cutting OPL enough credit.

His tastes might not be hip, but they need not be this narrow.
Never forget, He has some background acquaintance with Pre-Bebop-era Jazz, C&W and Southern Rock.
So....
I'd not be surprised to find he knows and enjoys Jimmy Dorsey or Glenn Miller, but I would be surprised if he was into John Coltrane or Miles Davis. (and openly shocked if he was into Ornette Coleman.)
I'd not be surprised to find he knows and enjoys .38 Special or ZZ Top; I would be surprised if he was into Molly Hatchet. That sounds too MEH-TULL for his delicate sensibilities.
I'd not be surprised to find he knows and enjoys Shania Twain or Reba McIntire; I would be surprised if he was into Johnny Cash or Randy Travis. I am curious, though, if his antiquarian tastes extend to a love of extremely old-school C&W like Hank Williams Sr. or Tennessee Ernie Ford. (Or would that be too Hillbilly for even his tastes?)

I base this entirely on what would be available in the lovingly curated LP collection of his amateur musicologist Father.
Where things get interesting (in the chinese curse sense of the word) is what would be in the random, haphazard odds-and-sods heap of dime-store 45s/tapes/cds/8-tracks/wax cylinders listlessly collected by his mother.

Probably lots and lots of K-Tel comps of late 70's drippy AM-pop fare and a semi-complete set of those "Now Thats What I Call Music" comps from the UK.

So Chris could be "rockin' out" to "Dream Weaver" and "Doctorin' the Tardis" :?

Chris doesn't have to love his father('s taste in music), but he does have to respect him/it.

There may be a mountain of LPs in 14BC, but whatever genres of music Chris listens to, I know he definitely doesn't listen to anything that you have to get up, take out of the sleeve, and put onto a turntable. No way. He probably hasn't heard any of them since Bob died 2 years ago, which might as well be 2 millennia ago given his memory.

Brother, Barb likely makes Chris do the vacuuming

Nah. The only lifeforms that vaccuum in that household are Clover and Snoopy. and they always miss the corners.

He probably just listens to what's on the radio. I doubt that he listens to studio albums from any artists from beginning to end.
