I have a PC keyboard from like 1995, Is quite sturdy, clicky feel and still works perfectly, is better than any other keyboard i've tried. Is from the very first PC we ever had at home and had that beigeish white look old PCs used to have. We still have a fridge that is older than me and good as new.

My biggest gripe with stuff nowadays is that is made to perform very well for a little while so you give it a raving review on amazon and then they break super fast. Shit is poorly built by design, is not a new concept but the life cicle of things have greatly shortened.

I was just reminiscing the other way how many sounds old computers had. The start-up noises, the 'pop' off the ancient subwoofer and speakers turning on, the creaking, crackling, and tocking as shit warmed up. Magical.

I have an old ass keyboard right now too, which I just switched over to after finding it in a cupboard. I notice.

I refuse to even bring a microwave into my kitchen and prefer gas to electric stoves. My sinuses hate going in and out from a 100 and something fucking awful outside into refrigerated air (112 yesterday in Tucson), so I lerves my swamp cooler in this adobe with real high ceilings.

Windows XP lol This August it will be 20 years since it was released, damn, time fucking flies...
You want to feel old? I see vehicles with historic plates on them that were manufactured after I started driving.

Microwaves are great for heating leftovers and thawing deep frozen food though. Which is what they ought to be used for anyway.
Gas stoves perform well, I'll give you that.

I still use film, in fact I never gave it up. Any photo I consider important or interesting I still use my old Фэд-4 camera for. I get excellent results and really enjoy the whole process.

I take black and white photos exclusively and I have a complete and functional dark room setup. I do all the development, printing, processing, and whatnot myself.

I’m at a point where I even make the majority of my development chemicals myself, mostly because it’s cheaper.

Is it practical? Not really, but it’s a hobby and we’ve all got to have something to do in our free time. It’s probably one of the few things I actually enjoy doing.

I’d love to post photos on my whole setup, but I already power level too much and that’s a bridge too far.

I did a lot of film shooting in art school, I fell in love with it instantly. Being involved in the development process from start to finish is deeply satisfying. Even the mechanical loading of the film itself I get off on, as I much prefer the hands-on tinkering approach to a lot of things.

Once I finally settle into a permanent house, I'd love to devote one room, or even half a room, to developing. I had a ghetto setup in my mother's house like ten years back, but it was anything but permanent.

Exactly, the entire process is really rewarding start to finish. It’s never gotten old for me.

If you don’t care about an enlarger you’re can get by with a changing bag, dev tank, and a scanner. It’ll be spartan, but it’s enough.

That said I like the enlarger and making prints that way. Good luck getting something setup someday.

Not sure if this counts, but making my own booze without all the fancy bullshit you find online. There’s something about being able to gauge when something is finished/going well with just your eyeballs.

I still own a functional mechanical typewriter. The ink ribbon even still works somehow, you only need to move the dry part away a bit and it still prints fine. I have utterly no use for this device but find myself unable to throw it away, so its just sat on my desk for the last 10 years.

I used to have a Smith Corona from the 1930s, 'Made in the British Empire' stamped on it. I sold it to an art student for like £15, serious regrets there.

It was cool to type up short poems I'd written. Still got those in a box somewhere.

What model do you have? Always wanted one of those beast-like Royals or Underwoods.

It is a Royal, though I can't be sure of the precise model as all of the paper and foil labels have since worn away on the model I have. I've encountered the exact same model in grey before though, which is apparently indicative of a model made after the 1950s (all preceeding specimens were always black and never produced in any other color).

Its more or less similar to this model, though there are a few minor differences, which I won't get into since it would be just my luck to own a unique one and dox myself by taking a picture of it.
