they're both gonna kick the bucket sooner than later, what will happen to their home? I think it will be torn down, the house is in no way salvageable.

Depends on if Barb/Chris write a will and get it witnessed. If not the city or Cole will probably inherit it, and most likely it'll get demolished and the land sold off.

There was a big discussion about this when the last set of pictures came out.

Like a lot of other people have said, the lot is pretty good real estate in and of itself. Prospective buyers would just have to get over their initial disgusted reactions, hunker down, and extensively clean and renovate/knock it all down (because as we've seen, the county isn't chomping at the bit to keep its houses in good order).

Whatever bank owns it will probably knock down the house.

It will be bought by trolls and people can pay to take tours of it. :epik:

Yeah, we're going to start a Kickstarter (or Cwcstarter) and raise the funds to buy it. It's the most important site of Christorical significance, and needs to be preserved for future generations.

Not to mention all the lost artifacts we can dig up.

My guess is there will be an electrical fire someday that will claim Barb and Chris. Just too much junk and I'm willing to bet the electrical work has gone to shit. All of the paper the pets shit on will play a factor in spreading it. The clutter would make escape more difficult. I'm just wondering what the chances are the Chandlers have blown-in insulation. It's mostly paper that is blown in between walls with a vacuum and it's cheap.

Not sure if :alog: ing here, but that's what I think will happen.

All joking aside, that's actually a very real possibility. That house is a deathtrap.

I don't know what will happen, but I know what should happen:

Then sell the plot of land to the county as a landfill.

Not that it would make that much of a difference. ]:(P

It's not entirely full, there's still some space left on The Classic Orange Couch, and inside Patti's box.

Chris is only 31. Even an obese, pre-diabetic, slothful 31-year-old is not gonna kick off "sooner than later", absent a sudden terminal illness, Godbear forbid. I don't see the point of a thread like this.

Or even better: start a CWCstarter to buy it, clean it up, and then donate it to some lovely gay black couple to raise their children in.

Odds are that after Barb dies, Chris will likely end up wallowing in his own self pity at that point in time. I actually kind of worry about what he'll do at that point since he's not exactly a self starter. Hopefully any field agents that are still friends with him will help him clean up the house and haul it off to the garbage.

Actually... it'd be interesting to see what would happen if Chris allowed them to do that. If there was a cattle call for people to help clean up (REALLY clean up, no sniffing about for Relics of Fail), I wonder how many people would go out there seriously. I'd probably do it just out of human kindness. I don't necessarily like Chris but I don't like the idea of anyone living in their own filth like that.

I wouldn't, not because I relish the thought of him living in a trash heap, but because he's a lazy, unmotivated slob who would take all of 2 months to turn it right back into the shithole that it was, and so it would be a wasted effort. You can't help someone who won't help himself.

A couple of things couldl happen:

1.) Barb dies, Chris learns enough about maintaining a home that he learns how to file income tax, property tax, homeowner's insurance, and the like. This leaves him with very little :tugboat: left over, forcing Chris to cut back his spending OR Chris takes out a grand number of credit cards, which keeps him afloat for a while but ultimately he ends up in his eyeballs in debt. Chris ignores the debt, things get repossessed, but Chris keeps the house and Chris craps his briefs and crashes into slumber over the stress of essentially being put on a budget. Against all odds, the house manages to stay standing (barely) until Chris dies of natural causes.

2.) Barb dies and Chris loses the house in a spectacularly stupid manner. He might take out a second mortgage on the home to fund his spending, or put his house as collateral on a credit card, or he could even lose the house to a scammer. This essentially makes Chris homeless. Thus begins the wilderness saga.

3.) Barb dies and Chris lives in the house until something catastrophic happens, like the hoard catching on fire or the roof caving in. If the roof goes, Chris may still live in the house for a while, until the rain water and mold forces him out. Thus begins the wilderness saga.

4.) Barb dies, Chris goes off the deep end and tards in public, and is eventually made a ward of the state due incompetence. The house and Chris's belongings are possessed by the Commonwealth of Virginia to pay for his care.

5.) Barb dies, Chris gets in trouble and ends up incarcerated for a grand number of years. The house sits vacant, property taxes don't get filed or paid, and eventually the state seizes the home to pay for Chris's care/incarceration.

In any event, none of this ends well.
