Whats the first rated M game you've ever played? -

A game called Bro Force by Devolver Digital, a good little game inspired by action movies. remember seeing it for the first time in late middle school and thinking "This game is the best thing ever" but I found out it was a Ps4 exclusive and I only had an Xbox. So I save up around $300 through out the year and went to the gamestop with my mom to buy a used Ps4. I got the system but I couldn't find the game because the game didn't come in hard copies. So the lady at the counter comes out with a digital gift card copy of the game with a fat rated M sign in the corner. The lady tells her that the game is rated M and whats in it (basically just pixel blood and some swearing) and those magical words came out of her mouth "that's fine" and the game is mine. I've almost exclusively only bought rated M games since that fateful day in 2014.

Call of Duty : Ghosts.

I was a very stupid child.

I am now a higher order lifeform. I am a student-manchild muttoid. I have played Titanfall 2 and Warhammer 40,000 : Space Marine.

In all seriousness, I prefer to think of Wolfenstein : The New Order as the first big boy vidya I ever played. So f-ing good.

Half Life 2, I think. I played Wolfenstein 3D before that, but I'm actually not sure that was 'Rated M' because I don't know if such rating existed at the time.

EDIT: Wait, no that's not true. I actually played The Thing on PC before that... though that was kind of a crappy game so I forgot about it.

I'd say Mortal Kombat, which was the first game to receive an M-rating, but it was applied retroactively two years after home versions were first released and I first played it before it was rated.

If I can't say Mortal Kombat for pedantic reasons, I don't remember. Possibly Doom although that game didn't even come out until I was around 19.

If we're talking about games that were released after the introduction of the ESRB, it could've been Duke Nuke'm 3D.

God of War.

Was like 10 and my dad gets it for me. We're playing it and the sex scene happens. Luckily my mom wasn't there so I still got to play it, and my dad was smart enough to realize that wasn't all the game was and that it was hilarious.

Pretty sure my first was Metal Gear Solid. I played Mortal Kombat first but I barely remember it because I was 2 or 3 years old.

House of the Dead: Overkill when I was 9.

I can still hear the squelching sounds.

First one that comes to mind is Diablo 2 on my brother-in-law’s computer. I think I was... 9 or 10. Asked mom to get it for me when we got home and I showed her Andariel’s titty spikes.

If we're talking about "mature" games played while underage for those of us whose childhoods predate the ESRB, it was probably Leather Goddesses of Phobos for MS/DOS. Which was text-only when I played it so it was probably the tamest mature game possible. I watched people play Leisure Suit Larry, which was also pretty tame, at other people's houses but I don't think I played the first one myself.

We were allowed to play Leisure Suit Larry III: Passionate Patty in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals, but that was like a PG-13 movie and the Sierra self-parody was much more memorable than any of the slightly dirty moments.

The arcade game Area 51. I played Doom and Wolfenstein before that, but technically those had RSAC ratings on them.

Huh... I couldn't really say for sure. I guess DOOM or Wolfenstein?

But I mean I definitely played some dubious or violent games before those that were not rated. You used to be able to find disks with porno on them but I guess those aren't games. And a bunch of text adventures were not for kids.
