What's the worst deal you've gotten for trading in a game or console? -

  • Sustained Denial of Service attacks. Paid for botnet. Service will continue to be disrupted until I can contact other providers and arrange a fix.

So, I went to Gamestop the other day to sell my old Xbox 360 games and the console (yes, I'm a console-fag), along with a few PS4 games. I didn't really care what deal I got, because I just wanted to get the Xbox out of my room since I hadn't used it for at least a year.

In the end I sold the Xbox 360 for $32. Not great, but once again, I just wanted it out of my house. The thing that really got me though was how much Deus ex: Human Revolution sold for.

It sold for 2 fucking cents.

Anyways, what's your experience with selling your used games/consoles?

While I was in a used game store about ten years ago, there was this ten year old kid with a used Xbox and a giant cardboard box full of NES, SNES, and N64 titles, along with some Xbox 360 games as well. The store owner gave him 10$ for the entire thing.

He said that he was happy with the deal because now he could get a pizza with the money.

LOL AUTIST!
I know, I know... I tried selling them elsewhere and didn't really have any luck, and, once again, just wanted the stuff out of my house.

Trust me, I'm well aware that Gamestop fucks their customers in the ass with no lube.

I went to a classic gaming convention with my partner over the summer and we brought some duplicates and other games that we were okay with selling or trading with to get games we didn't own. We shopped around a bit to see who would give us the best deals but one particularly bad one kind of stood out to us.

We offered them:
  • Crash Bandicoot (PS1, complete in box, non-Greatest Hits edition)
  • Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis, complete in box)
  • Rollcage II (PS1, still in original wrapping)
  • Blast Dozer (N64, loose, Japanese import)
They offered us six dollars.

Nothing cuz Im the one who fucks gamestop in the ass.
When re5 came out, I gave them a red ringed 360 to get the limited edition re5 one for a few more bucks.

I would rather keep my shit, instead of giving it away for a few bucks.

Never made one because I don't deal with fucking Gamestop.

If you want to sell games, just put them on ebay for BIN and hope some moron is stupid enough to pay what you want.

In 2002, back when GameStop was owned by Barnes & Noble and still a somewhat respectable retail establishment, I wanted to trade in my Super Nintendo and several good games (Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Super Metroid) for Sonic Adventure 2 on the Sega Dreamcast. However, they refused because the UPC code was illegible from fading.

To this day, I'm thankful such an autistic transaction on my part couldn't be honored.

They probably would have offered you 10 bucks for the whole bundle.

Traded all of my NES games but two (Skate or Die and Gyromite) at Funcoland so I could buy Final Fantasy II.
Traded most of my SNES games at Funcoland so I could buy Mario 64.
Traded my Dreamcast and all my games at GameStop so I could buy Metal Gear Solid 2.
