what's with people obsessing with avocados? -

Avocados aren't even that good for a fruit. It tastes bitter and it is high in fat. I've known someone who died with hypertension because he ate too much avocados. Here in my shithole, avocados are mixed with sugar and milk for it to become edible. When I see american videos about preparing avocados, they would always put it on salads or even eating it raw completely. I never understood its appeal. Can someone give me a basic gestalt to why normies love avocados so much?

Avocados are fine. Nothing to write home about. They're in that same class of 'fruits' that tomatoes and pumpkins are: they're technically fruit but most people in North America treat them as a vegetable.

Long story short; people are really stupid about the way food works so if you tell them something's full of 'healthy' fats they'll gorge themselves to death on it. Some people consider this a bug in our education system.

I consider it a feature.

Maybe your getting avocados shipped from different place then I am, or are a different type, because where I live they are delicious in salad or a sandwich, but expensive

They are like peaches though: they taste 10x better if you can eat them a day or two before they start to rot.

No, avocados are grown locally here. Spaniards brought the fruit from Mexico 4 centuries ago and it became a feral tree ever since. People cultivate it on their own backyards as well
