Depends on the animal and the child imo, I'd say if you're a grown man fucking a cat would be worse than a child because while the child will be scarred for life because of what you did the cat will have ruptured internal organs and could very likely die on the spot. If it's a larger animal though, i.e. a horse, it'd most likely enjoy what you're doing to it since animal minds aren't really complex enough to understand consent so the psychological impact on it would be less than that of a child, not to mention the fact that you can get the child pregnant depending on it's age or spread STDs to it. That's not to say that fucking the animal would be okay in that scenario (or any) but it's going to be less harmful for the animal than the child.

A molested child can receive therapy and still has a chance to lead a normal life when they become older, whereas most animals that experience trauma never gain the mental fortitude to recover at all.

I would argue the opposite, a human child could be more damaged by sexual abuse than an animal even with therapy because our understanding of sex, love, interacting with opposite gender, self worth and parenthood are much more complex and rape throws all of those into disarray.
