Sweet and savory- crostini recipe:
  • 1 loaf of French bread (cut in slices and toasted with olive oil or butter)
  • 1 packet of sliced roast beef or pastrami (found in deli section)
  • 1 jar red pepper jelly (this adds sweet and spice)
  • 1 carton of cream cheese (chive and onion works really well with this)
  • Chopped scallions to taste
Toast bread, followed by cream cheese and pepper jelly. Top with roast beef and scallions.

Fresh and sweet- Barrio Queen guacamole copycat recipe
  • 1 avocado
  • 1/8 cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1-2 limes
  • 1/8 cup of chopped tomatoes
  • 1/8 cup of diced red onions
  • Salt
Make it how you would normal guacamole, just leave bigger chunks. Add pomegranate seeds at the end.

Sweet and spicy- roasted tomatillo salsa
  • 12 tomatillos
  • 1 green bell pepper (halved and seeds removed)
  • 1 jalapeño (halved with seeds removed, keep seeds if you want it spicier)
  • 1 garlic bulb (wrapped in foil)
  • 1 red onion (chop what your blender/food processor can take)
  • 1 bunch of cilantro
  • 3-4 key limes
  • 1-2 teaspoons of sugar
  • Salt (to taste)
On a baking sheet, put tomatillos, bell pepper, garlic, and jalapeño. Cook high on broil in the oven for around 10 minutes, or until browned. While this is baking, chop the onion and cilantro and juice the limes. After the tomatillos, bell pepper, cilantro and garlic have cooled, put the tomatillos, bell pepper and jalapeño in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Take 2-3 cloves of the roasted garlic and add to the blender. Add onion and cilantro and blend until smooth. Finish with lime juice, salt, and sugar to taste.

I forgot to add something, in the guacamole recipe was supposed to have cilantro in it (I can’t edit posts at the moment though).

I love chile con queso. It’s a guilty pleasure. Cheese fondue is good too. I’ve never heard of lemon and cheese together. Do you have a specific cheese you’d use for it?

I also love fruits with cheese, it’s always fun going to an event with finger foods available to munch on because 99% of the time they always have cheese arraignments with various fruits as well. SO good eating grapes and strawberries with tangy cheeses.

For sweet, I like strawberry, and banana, and chocolate and peanut butter.

For savory, I love either hotdogs, or ham with mac and cheese, or ramen. The fattiness really cuts through the heavy creaminess of the mac and cheese and the saltiness of the ramen.

I love tart flavors for sweets; I love that dose of bitter or sour that adds some bite to the sweet. It's why I love citrus fruits and flavors so damn much. Also why I'll happily destroy my mouth with SweetTarts.

As for savory? I love aromatics and spices. I love chicken tikka, curries, chilis, and smoked snacks. It's an actual sickness sometimes.

Chocolate and berries like strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Get me ice cream in these flavors and I melt. Chocolate and salty flavors like in chocolate covered pretzels.

Also love drinking water after eating chocolate, especially icy water.
