Tuna sashimi is probably my typical favorite, but anything without a cheese on it is good.

The definitive part of sushi is actually the rice. Specifically, the vinegar and the rice. Almost anything else that goes on can be sushi, like the bullshit "California roll," which is basically sushi rice with a bunch of bullshit on top.

The rice is what defines sushi.

Sashimi is the raw fish by definition stuff.

Some snotty types love to deride raw salmon, saying the Japanese never eat it (untrue) and that it is riddled with parasites (true but these can be killed by deep freezing). But I only know what I like best. I prefer salmon over expensive fare like sea urchin or toro tuna.

I disagree to an extent. The mongolian buffet by me has "sushi" but it's really just rice stuffed with rice and occasionally they put sesame seeds on it. Not that fantastic.

You know what's weird? I have a "Mongolian" restaurant near my house and they also serve sushi alongside their grill. Like come the fuck on, Mongolians don't eat sushi, they're a landlocked country.

Anyway, I vote for Tako again. Just had some for lunch. I love the chewy texture, plus the pure seawater flavor, and the aroma. So fucking good.

Uni is good. Definitely a favorite.
I mostly eat sashimi, and I'm a big fan of high quality yellowtail and escolar. Escolar is usually meant as a low quality swap for white tuna (often listed as "super white tuna"), and causes stomach problems for some people, but I love it. Soft and buttery.
I also like salmon sashimi.
The salmon roe with quail egg is good.
Sweet potato rolls are oddly satisfying for a veggie roll.
Recently I had a good special, I think it was ocean rainbow trout? Some kind of trout. I was surprised because I don't see it often and it was actually really good.
I might go to sushi for lunch if I can pester my coworker to tag along.
