I still shudder when someone calls me "sir".

But by now I live on my own, I pay my bills, I do my own groceries and cook for myself and I do my own laundry and clean my own room, so... I realized it just now, I suppose.

It's been a series of "holy shit, I'm an adult" moments since I turned eighteen back in 2009. The most recent was last month when I was having a discussion about retirement benefits and 401ks with my friends.

I think that moment I realized I became an adult was somewhere along the line in college. Just driving to college after I got a license. If not that, then actually trying to work as an intern.

The most recent realization of adulthood was when I was bitching with my landlord about the incompetence of the water and sewage authority. Very adulting.

The first realization though was probably the first time I did my taxes. I realized I was enjoying it and like, "fuck, I'm old."

Two points. One when I was just turning 18 and had gained my drivers license. I drove to a beautiful cathedral city that I hadn't visited in many years and realized I could do whatever I wanted and go where I wanted and not be beholden to people or busses any more.

The other was when I wasn't carded for the first time buying Alcohol.

I sort of figured out that I've became an adult when I first entered college back in Fall 2014. Even though I shaped up a bit over the past year or two, I still have my moments of you know, being an exceptional individual. I've at least learned how to spend my money much better and shop for my own food (as well as cooking it) rather than relying on the shitty, unhealthy food that my school offers.

I've also learned how to make a resume and apply for jobs/internships this year too.
