Tell us why your favorite game is terrible. What went wrong?

WoW Retail. FFXIV and ESO can be the best mmos in the world, but if they don’t have functional and synergetic PvP like WoW has it’s probably a no deal for me.

Too bad everything else sucks ass in terms of stagnated content and bland class design with no flow whatsoever making tackling WQs a painful slog because on top of that you have enemies that seem to take just enough damage before dying to completely piss you off. War fronts were a cool idea but unless you played with wheelchair bound helmet wearing retards (and even then) they were next to impossible to fail and they were clearly not designed as a PvE mode at all so why they never added a pvp mode to it makes utterly no sense. Island Expeditions... are island expeditions nothing more to say.

I don't really love any terrible games, I usually sell them as soon as I can't stand them anymore.

Chrono Cross is a beautiful mess in every sense of the word.
It's pretty and comfy, and the combat system is actually fun.
Plot-wise, it doesn't know what to do. It would have been better if it was its own thing, instead of being a sequel to Chrono Trigger, the perfect JRPG. And one that craps all over its most important events at that. Since console RPG's are mostly about the plot, trying to make heads or tails from the happenings throughout the game was pretty disappointing.

Also, the battles against Dario and Miguel were amongst the few moments in gaming where I lost my patience and loudly groaned at the TV. Suddenly the fun combat system wasn't so fun anymore. And coming up with the right element combination against the final boss was a final painful gimmick that the game just had to throw at me, but good Goddamn, I will cherish these moments until I die.

100% agreed. It was a beautiful game full of colorful environments and interesting characters, and then they hired a league of schizophrenics to write the plot. I loved it when I was a kid, but every attempt to try and replay it has had me hit a brick wall.

Also, everyone spoke in distinct accents. Never seen another game do that.

I'd love to see a remake, but it'd also have to come with a rewrite. It's surreal to think about how, to this day, 20 years later, it's still exclusive to the PS1, and never translated to anything but English.

Bubble Bobble

Is Bubble Bobble a bad game? I though it was beloved?

I never actually played Bubble Bobble since I had a Sega Master System instead of a Nintendo Entertainment System in the relevant era (although I am aware that the SMS eventually did get a Bubble Bobble port but it wasn't released in North America until 1994, long after most stores had stopped selling SMS games).

CORRECTION: The Master System version of Bubble Bobble never got an official release in North America, I was looking at the release date of the Game Gear version, which makes a lot more sense.

It sucks bc I have to keep feeding it quarters and my allowance doesn't cover more than an hour of that

Yoshi's Story is cruelly short and indefensibly easy, but the music, graphics and core mechanics are so good that I kind of love it. It was a huge letdown after Yoshi's Island but I still have affection for it.

Blood Bowl 1 & 2 have some of the worst AI I've ever seen in a game. The computer makes dumb decisions that work out like magic just because. Win or lose, it's up to the whim of the computer and skill has nothing to do with it. But hey, it has Chaos Dorfs that I can level up and one of the goblins rides a pogo stick.
