I am moving across the country and arrived a day early before my move in, so I check into a nearby hotel. I am tired about to sleep. Need to desperately recharge my phone and have no laptop. I turn on the TV, have HBO and a few other movie channels. There's literally nothing going on. Nearly all the channels dump blocks of the same content or replay the same movies even on the premium movie channels.

I used to love the IFC channel back in the day and I look at it now and it's playing nothing but endless reruns of Twk and a Half Men. WTF happened? What moron would pay for TV these days other than clueless Boomers?

I am about to fall asleep, waiting for the sleep meds to hit, and I am rewatching that Jay and Silent Bob movie. The first one. I don't remember it being this bad. All the jokes are obvious and not funny. Only decent parts is the George Carlin cameo and the Scooby Doo parody.

I visited my mother and I tried watching tv. The amount of ads was disgusting. Streaming services have done a number on my patience. I think most people that still watch tv are boomers and sports fans.

I've had a TV recently because circumstances and didn't realize how much of a pathetic state its in now. MTV is literally just Ridiculousness (YouTube videos with wigger commentary) on repeat nearly 24/7. Comedy Central daytime mostly just airs the entirety The Office, S1-S9 over and over again. Except one episode in S1 where Michael is racist and "retard" and "fag" are censored out now. I think other than old people these channels are mostly just for something to be put on at a bar or what people watch when they're bored in hotel rooms.

Also the "Orange Man Bad" memes about CNN/MSNBC really weren't overstated. Before Biden was in (and still now somewhat) those channels were just constant seethe over Trump.

At least TLC is based and marathons funny fat people shows.

It's weird to think something once as utterly ubiquitous as TV is dying.

Other than New Year's, the Oscars and the Superbowl I pretty much checked out of live TV as far back as 2008 when I got my first DVR, but I pretty much checked out of TV period after the 2016 election, I could see which way the wind was blowing and didn't want to devote my time to endless Orange Man Bad.

TVs? Well, there's still a lot of people who would come into their living room, sitting on their sofa, taking their remote controls and changing channels or some kind of shit. Most of the time, I would say moms, children, and any kind of people, including niggers still watches TV even if they have something they already own to see their favorite shows, news and launching YouTube on their owned TV that operates Android TV (most people in my place uses these, it is rare to see people who still uses CRT TVs to watch shit).
The ratio of people that still watches TVs are still big here, I would say. Though, I still watch TV as usual like the others, mostly for DOOM analysis, or other things I liked.

Literally the ONLY times I've ever watched normie TV at all in the last decade or so was in the waiting room at the doctor's, at Pep Boys when I was getting my oil changed, and in a court room lobby when I was waiting to fight a parking ticket fine. Apart from that, I torrent everything or watch it on YouTube.

I haven’t had cable for about a decade or a little over. I don’t even really watch that much on my handful of streaming services anymore. Most of my stuff is either shows and movies I have saved on hard drives or the occasional YouTube video. I think the last time I looked at regular cable tv was when I spent a week visiting my dad and stepmom last year (and they’re in their 60s so that just lends more credence to only normies and boomers still watch regular tv)

Except for the vintage ones that date back to the 40’s and 50’s. Those are still a treat.
