I've always thought that when rocket technology becomes easier for you average loony to obtain/build we're gonna see tons of funny moon related acts of terror.
The american flag is gonna get sent to the sun and we're gonna see flags from future terror groups popping up. It's gonna be wacky fun and I can't wait.

I'm pretty sure we've got international agreements saying nobody is allowed to own any part of celestial bodies besides Earth. That being said, the American flag up there has been bleached by wacky sun radiation over the years, so I think it belongs to the French now?
If it's white they've surrendered, but dunno where's there Germans or Moslems to make their surrender to, and there cheese for the surrender monkeys?

The Outer Space Treaty says no one owns the moon even if their national flags are on it.
It belongs to the USA and its citizens because we landed there first and called dibs, and also because we own the most nukes.
I question the relevance of some fossil treaty that existed before we as a society needed to seriously contend with how to divy up the resources that exo-planetary bodies represent.
