We all know that Tom Brady is considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks to have ever played American Football, because of his seven Superbowl rings currently.
Aaron Rodgers is known for his deadly accuracy, ability to escape the pocket and to throw under pressure. He is also considered to be the Hail Mary king and the free play king.
Tom Brady is what I consider to be an average quarterback in terms of skill. He throws a lot of interceptions and isn't all that accurate BUT... He does come in clutch when it matters the most. He has also spent most of his career being surrounded by (absolute studs) the best in the NFL. He for the most part has always had a strong Defense who bails him out when he fucks up and an Offensive Line that has kept him protected enough to be healthy enough at age 43 to be playing football.
Aaron has the highest average passer rating out of any quarterback in the NFL as of right now and currently holds the number one and two spot for Passer Rating. His ability to scramble out of the pocket and to throw under pressure, his ability to pass and score in the redzone rather than running the ball, his nearly perfect accuracy, and the fact he throws hail Mary's better than anyone has earned him his Passer rating, but that's during regular season games. When it comes to the playoffs. Aaron has a really bad habit of chocking when it matters most. Losing most playoff games and only having one Superbowl win and appearance out of his 16 seasons in the NFL.
Unlike Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers has always had a pretty average team for the most part. They have certainly had their good and bad, but mostly just ok. The Packers team has always felt incomplete and missing major elements. Tom Brady has almost always had a complete team that would fire on all eight cylinders. Never bet against Tom Brady unless you are Eli Manning. When Brady saw his New England team falling apart. He moved to Tampa Bay, because Tampa Bay had everything he needed to get another ring except a good quarterback. He then filled that role beautifully.
Moral of the story:
As we can tell, teams do matter and it's teams that win championships, not quarterbacks.
So what makes one of these QB's the GOAT? An extremely skilled Aaron Rodgers or an extremely clutch Tom Brady.
