I nominate Kacey as his most helpful. Although she did give him a hard time and point out how pathetic he is in every call, at least she was being honest with him and trying to motivate him to improve himself by getting a job, etc. Alec B leary was similar in this regard. Bluespike was obviously one of his most hurtful trolls, but I nominate Jackie as having been a more hurtful troll. She was a significant influence in Chris' tomgirl saga by telling him how hot he looked in his tomgirl photos. By convincing him that dressing up as a woman was a totally normal and even attractive habit for a straight male she did push him even farther away from reality and having a shot at a normal life. She is also responsible for some of his most bizarre videos such as the one in which he gives birth to a toy bear, stuffing his bra and dancing to bollywood music, kissing a blowup doll in public, cake farts, etc. All scripted by Jackie. Obviously Chris would have still been a total weirdo without Jackie, but she really did push him towards the deep end.

I don't know. Jackie did come up with a lot of strange ideas, but no one actually expected Chris to go all the way with most of them. Like Jackie did suggest Chris get more in touch with his "feminine" side, but no one expected Chris to go full on tomgirl. That was mostly on Chris.

I don't think any of the trolls were helpful to Chris. People have tried to explain things to Chris or talk him into fixing his problems, but it never works. Otherwise, we just pestered him and made his life miserable. I mean, we're not responsible for all of his problems. Hell, I'd say 95% of his depression nowadays is Barb's fault. But we certainly didn't help.

Hmm... I don't know. Not necessarily. I think when Chris isn't being feminine, or his idea of femininity, anyway, he's being a genderless five year old. It's very rare for Chris to do anything approaching masculinity. And when he is trying to be masculine, maybe on a troll's suggestion, he's awkward and very unsure of what he's doing.

Yea, I'm not sure how that whole thing started, but Jackie definitely did play a big part in spurring it on. Like in email 24 when Chris first comes out as a tomgirl to jackie and sends her some tomgirl photos she says: "I hope you're not mad, but I was so turned on by those pictures, I just couldn't keep it to myself... I showed those pictures to a friend of mine to see what she thought. She was kind of turned on, too! Don't worry, she's very trustworthy and she wouldn't do anything bad, I told her it was important that she keep it completely secret."

That kind of deluding him into thinking he is normal/desirable is the kind of thing I'm talking about and is really the opposite approach to that taken by Kacey who was all about getting him to realise how pathetic he actually is.

Least Helpful: Jack Thaddeus. His phonecalls were, in contrast, a series of grating screeds and shouting matches. Each one validating the stereotypes that OPL already held: that all trolls are gay, all gays are trolls, and everyone who disagrees with him is a gay troll. He was constantly undoing ABL's work just by being so shrill and hectoring.

Had Jackie been telling Chris the whole time not to crossdress, just like with Kacey, he wouldn't have listened. To Chris other people don't really have opinions or advice, they'll either say something that he likes to hear or that he doesn't like. Whatever they say will have no effect on the thing in question once he's decided something. You will inflate his ego that he is right or you will be ignored. So no, Jackie did not help spur on the tomgirl thing, she just made him feel nice while he did it.

Although even on the rare occasion that Chris is forced to admit a flaw... whoever forced the admission is a bad guy, because they did something Chris didn't like. Getting revenge on them takes priority over fixing the flaw, in his mind.

Chris's problem is that he needs constant supervision and, honestly, parenting. That's why I'm proposing that when Barb goes, we petition Virginia to allow Alec to adopt him as his child.

Although, I don't know if you considered this in your post or not, but Chris can change. He definitely can. However, you can't change him with mere advice. You need to have power over him. Chris can be trained like a dog, but only if you have control over him. Like Barb.

Weirdly enough....the dumbest idea anyone ever gave him ('get in touch with your feminine side') is the one piece of advice he latched onto, digging his claws knuckle deep into it.

As others have mentioned, none of the trolls have done much to help him because he ignores all advice. Kacey was completely forgotten 24 hours after her last phone call. However, I think Jackie is significant in causing Chris to change the most. I think Jackie's constant hectoring was successful in diminishing Chris's self-confidence and blowing a hole in his egotism. There's one email in which Chris nakedly calls himself retarded and possibly incapable of a relationship. I think Jackie was partially responsible for eroding Chris's self-esteem and turning him into the shambling mope he is today. Jackie was his last love-interest.

Also, Jackie forced him to realize that he can't do any goddamn pull-ups.
