Well for some of these lolcows I was unironically a fan for a while and then grew out of it. Who became a lolcow first? Probably Spoony.
The day when Chris became a /v/ legendChris only because I stumbled upon the video of him humping his PS3 for 8 minutes straight with no context whatsoever
Whoa. If that is not making rape looking like in the innocence, then I don't know what is. I think even the rapist defendant's attorney couldn't deny this as well. The first lolcow that I really followed was Ray Jones, a 50 year old mathematician with a mind boggling obsession with Gadget from Rescue Rangers. Ray and his ilk were the original Bronies in a way.

Snapesnogger was my first lolcow too. By today’s standards her past lolcow behavior is extremely tame. I still remember when she tried to post her art on conceptart.org, an art critique site that pulls no punches telling you your art sucks. The members there gave her really in depth criticism and she got really pissed off. “The snake part is NOT lumpy!” was the highlight of that saga.Snapesnogger was probably the first one I actually knew of, but I didn't really care much about any of the drama surrounding her and nowadays drawing noseless animu mpreg nagas wouldn't even make someone bat an eyelash. The most she ever did from my recollection was draw weird porn and bitch about getting critiqued, which was pretty par for the course back then.
The first lolcows I actually were interested in from an entertainment standpoint were Zeriara and Sevva-Phoenix just due to the amount of shitflinging and drama involved with both of them. Zeriara in particular had so many accusations of being a predatory animal-abusing creepo that she stuck out in my memory as an early horrorcow.
Also Project Chanology was a big deal back then, and every edgy teen who wanted to be validated for quoting memes IRL was all over that shit.
