I see the bait, but I'll still bite; mostly cos of sick of all this men Vs women shit.
Men competitive. Women socially oriented.
See: the effects of testosterone and estrogen.
Also money does not equal happiness, but it is a nice easy and socially objective source of status, it's a number you can measure up against your peers far more easily than, say, measuring good boy points and has a direct and immediate gratifying outcome.
Women tend to spend more time tending to harder to measure and slower yielding values such as social bonds. Particularly with cats for the socially anxious ones it would seem.
You see it in job choices too.
You need a balance of both approaches to have any quality of life. Either path taken to the extreme will kill you. Can't imagine it's easy for the gays and lesbians to find a balance. I suppose that's why you tend to get butches and femmes bunkering up.

Because gay men know how to socialize and make connections. They don’t walk around 24/7 with a constant chip on their shoulder and perpetually angry bitch face the way dykes do
