Why is it that the conservative talk radio types hate Imagine?

Take for instance, Ben Shapiro calling Imagine by John Lennon a "monstrosity":

What the fuck is up with these types hating Imagine so much? It's not some spoooky atheist socialism song, at least to my perception. It's about peace and unity.

It's about removing all distinctions between all people and destroying all bonds groups of people share with one another. All so some hippie fuck can feel morally superior to everyone else.

Do you not want to be a cog in a soulless machine? Are you curious why the ideals of Imagine happen to intersect with those of massively scaled up corporations? Well, you're a Nazi now.

People like to frame it as being about peace and unity, but it's about becoming completely apathetic and not caring about anything. Nothing to kill or die for. No country. No identity. Just drift around aimlessly smoking dope or whatever.

Obviously a member of the (((Tribe))), one of the (((Chosen Ones))), dislikes the idea of a song that doesn't believe in special classes of people.

It is not even a good song, to be honest. In general the instrumentation is bad, which is annoying when you know that the guy could have made it much better. The lyrics are wack, but it's the hippy commie phase of nothing matters man (except rights to the Beatles catalog).

But I would take John Lennon over Ben Shappiro. That is for sure.

Re: the picture of the 'Bed-in' above: to be fair, they performed that particular act of slacktivism in hotel rooms so no wonder there's a maid. To be even more fair: she'd probably dealt with worse people than those sanctimonious cunts.

It's funny, I imagined no possessions, but then I automatically imagined emaciated mothers eating their starved children as well.

Its a dumb song by one dumb person.

I suppose religious tards like Ben get offended at the "imagine there's no God" line tho.

In elementary school our teacher played that song to us often and I always hated it. I couldn't really explain why, as it wasn't the lyrics. It just has an ominous sound to it that isn't harmonious or catchy. Something about it just makes me feel uncomfortable like the you would hear in a cult indoctrination video.
