Why was news article about the_donald being quarantined moved from A&H to community watch thread? -

I realize they're related, but obviously a news story about reddit yet again censoring conservatives is different from a board about laughing at The_Donald circlejerks. I'll try not to throw any wild accusations around as they always hilariously bite me in the ass.

But the discussion of the Donald subreddit is of no interest to most people. Inconsistent censorship is. It's more of a Reddit article than anything.

Nobody who would have been interested in the thread content would find that story now unless they noticed it first in a&h.

The thing is, the people in The_Donald community watch thread want to laugh at idiots in a circlejerk, much like any other community watch thread. It's funny, it's silly, a good time is had by all.

In the A&H thread about The_Donald being quarantined, the people want to point out the hypocrisy of the action vs other subreddits, comment on the closeness of the action to the democrat debates, and discuss the overall censorship angle.

Now, those two groups have been superimposed and clearly the community watch thread people aren't happy about their fun little group being invaded by a bunch of super serious news idiots, and the super serious news idiots don't really appreciate the people just trying to dunk on some lolcows. The OP for the news story is buried in a random page of a community watch thread, so the people trying to discuss it don't even have all the info.

I'm sure it probably was just janitor action, not a super duper conspiracy, but I really think in this case it's made things messier. I know the mods like everything in a neat stack, but perhaps this would have been a good time to let the OCD slide.

Quite frankly, there should be a lolcow thread for A&H on community watch. You could probably do a number of threads in community watch about various communities here.

The A&H thread about the specific incident should have stood alone, and the community watch people would obviously have discussed the incident as well, but more from the angle of laughing at the silliness of the community.
And then the community watch thread could also laugh at highlights from the A&H thread, if they were so inclined. Win win.

Of course, if that were the case we wouldn't have THIS thread, but on balance I think we'd be better off the other way.

The A&H isn't the main circlejerk, The_Donald subreddit is the circlejerk the community watch thread is about. A "Kiwi farms trumptards" community watch thread probably would be worthwhile, honestly. The fact that my constant foolishness isn't gathered into a thread is a loss, in my opinion. Think of all the hilarity future kiwis will never get to see. I'm not interesting enough for a whole thread though, but an "A&H" spergouts thread could contain some of my highlights.
