She wants to get closer to D&D and is doing it by way of Dana’s niece. She’ll only do things that benefit her, which is why she was acting generous with the niece. It can also work as a guilting mechanism to get D&D to spend more time on her. With the money she spends on everyone, she can use it as manipulation. If someone doesn’t want to do something for her or with her, she can bring up how many things and how much of her money she’s spent on that person.
