The Wonderswan... the first in the line of Bandai's Japan-exclusvie handhelds, released March 4th 1999.

The original model had a 16-bit monochrome display, but was replaced a year later by the Wonderswan Color, which in turn was replaced by the Swancrystal. The Wonderswan line ended in 2003, only four years actively on the market, and is regulated as a footnote in videogame history.

But the Wonderswan is one of my all-time favorite systems, so Happy Birthday, Swan of Wonders!

Anyways, yeah, its a shame that this system didn't get a released outside of Japan. Fortunately, I'm happy to say that I'm a convert. I have play with it and it is quite light wait and has amazing battery life for just one battery.

Not to be confused with the Wonderboner (though I'm sure it can cause one!)
