The Genos from the old worldbuilding were just lifted from another world I made (except for that they were in space instead of underwater). In it there are two main sides in a cold war with each other. The Genosohodang and the Lzhumnapipoihimphuh (Genos language is easy to romanize and has mostly english sounds, Lzhumnapipoi is extremely difficult). The Genos are descended from inhabitants of Africa who fled to space to escape a Chinese genocide when the world was dominated by a cold war between the new Ethiopian empire and the Pan Sinic Alliance. This was a universe in which SJWs destroyed the western world and refugees went to Africa for safety. China was bent on taking African resources and eventually tried to kill all Africans so the African Nobility (which contained some white people and some Asian people because Africa was trying to be the next Roman Empire) fled into outer space and triggered a doomsday device wiping out civilization for centuries on earth. The Space people became the Genos and began to conquer all other species they encountered desiring eventually to retake Earth and the Earth people became the Lzhumapipoi who became isolationist and completely revised history to portray the Genos as alien invaders and their transhumanism as the natural result of intelligent design (both sides had transhumanism but the first ever interspecies war in known history was the Genos "domestication" of the Oseio)

Long, long, long ago before the events of Sector Imperator transpired. Groups of radical ultra-progressive terrorist cells known collectively as the Progressive Liberation Front were often at odds with the humanity's major malevolent organizations on Earth such as your archetypal evil scientist the Innovated 12, the Nazi remnant known as Tarantula, the pan-humanist collectivist Vengeful Bird, the old Imperial Japanese remnant the Rising Sun. When MIST or the Multi International Strategical Taskforce decided they had enough of constantly eradicating another PLF cell and then hundreds more would pop up. MIST after long months of triangulating communications, decoding computer files of PLF cells that weren't disintegrated in the fires of Lasers and Plasma, or handing over prisoners to the Strategical.Black.Operations.Unit or the SBOU, a hidden classified sub-organization of MIST that used more brutal measures to extract information. Eventually found a perturbing piece of information about the Progressive Liberation Front.

It turns out they were the workings of the presumably dead Red-Star program after the Allied Republic had crushed them in the Allied-Soviet War 3 decades ago. The Red-Star Program for years had wanted to create a new socialist communist utopia by creating sleeper agents throughout the world. The PLF cells that MIST has fought over the years were receiving direct orders from Red-Star Program broadcasting stations all over the world. Nevertheless, MIST struck at one of these broadcasting stations in Siberia, thereby reducing the amount of PLF cells around the world. Red-Star would then fall back on another plan. If groups of mischievous sanctimonious teenagers won't do the trick, why should they rely on others to do the work. Years later in 2034, MISTs main base in London was destroyed by a PLF cell who managed to get their hands on a Anti-Matter Bomb that devastated half of London.

With MIST weakened, the Red-Star co-opted their organization with the local Marxist Reclamation Group in Russia to overthrow the government and create a new Marxist alliance, the Ursik Alliance.

The Lzhumnapipoi language has over 30 grammatical genders. Only 7 refer to humans (6 referring to tribes of which one is extinct, one referring to mixed tribe groups) but there is a wide variety applying to other things. Male and female only applies to animals because the Lzhumnapipoi are hermaphrodites as part of their biological modifications.

They have 6 tribes of which someone is assigned to at the age of 12
Aether: highest status, philosopher kings -balo
Air: soldiers, purged when they were seen as a threat that could overthrow the Aether so the Aether being the ones who assigned membership never gave the air new members -7aero
Water: Entertainers -wado
Fire: Engineers -faro
Earth: Misc craftspersons -hatho
Darkness: priests -daako

There are humans who live on the planet with the Lzhumnapipoi but they are seen in the same way as wolves were by medieval humans. They are seen as animals but also as dangerous ones that are to be feared. The humans live in tribal states and often have enough habitat fragmentation that their populations have a large degree of deleterious mutations that cause them to be less healthy than contemporary humans reaching the point of borderline extinction. Originally the Lzhumnapipoi had an arrangement that they would send a messenger to the humans to invite them to receive the "elixir" which contained all the genetic modifications necessary to become a Lzhumnapipoi but since the messenger was of the Air tribe the purge meant an end to this practice and eventually to the loss of the elixir and the coverup myth of an intelligent designer that created the Lzhumnapipoi whereas all other life just evolved.

The lack of an air caste means that they rely entirely on domestic security drones for military purposes which makes them far outmatched by the Genos in direct conflict. They have a hivemind which enables them a sort of afterlife which the Genos look poorly upon.

The Lzhumnapipoi started as a cult around a leader called Thankwabalo who got a large amount of devoted followers and divided them into castes for world conquest. After the conquest was complete he created a hivemind and gave the elixir to all members with the knowledge that it would make their descendants need to use state provided incubation tubes in order to have offspring effectively placing them under his eternal control. His army forced almost all humans to take the Elixir either through forceful injection in the early stages or deployment as a gaseous weapon or in water supplies later on. He created the hivemind so that he could live forever inside of it . Contemporary surviving humans developed traditions to avoid the Elixir such as living in underground bunkers for generations or filtering water supplies but now that the elixir is gone they live tribally. The Lzumnapipoi live on several planets galaxywide but mostly near earth ones whereas the Genos live in far from earth ones.

After the Solar War, where the remaining nations of Earth fought over the resources and most importantly. Void technology. Mankind began to invest their technology into genetic engineering and cultivation that would allow them to survive the perilous environment of space. Different genetically engineered species were created, these were called Neo-Humans. Neo-Humans are the ultimate result from humanity's past experimentation with genetic enhancements and centuries of cybernetic technology.

The Zydens were made to be replacements to Humans, their sole purpose was to make a Human race capable of surviving and adapting on all kinds of environments. The Kamians were bio-androids who were dedicated assassins and black ops units who were faster than any other Neo-Human alive, the Brevikians main purpose was to wage and conduct warfare and to be the ultimate instruments of destruction against the enemies of humanity, the Kolstivekians were to be workers and constructors, the Catharns, a race of scientist who were known to travel to hostile alien environments, the Fiscites; mathematical prediction analyst. These six Neo-Human races would eventually gain their own freedom and independence from their Human overlords as mankind was divided into nation-states such as the North American Empire in which the Zydens were created, the Kamians of the East Asian Coalition, the Catharns and Brevikians of the European Federation, the Fiscites of the minor Corporate League, and the Catharns were a secret project by the European Federation.

Humanity was wiped out by the Brevikians, whose indomitable will and marshal power and destructive firepower allowed them to exterminate some of the most formidable fortifications built in the waning days of humanity in a war known as the Eradication Crusade. The Zydens were confined to the post-apocalyptic system known as the Sol System. Fighting against the K'veran nano-swarms and Briosian conquering armies, the Kamians fled to the Shadow Cluster and established their own clans, the Catharns seemed to have develop a system of faith surrounding the ultimate creation of Earth, the Fiscites in their shrouded nature would create their own sprawling corporations.

The Lzhumnapipoi are all female in that they have phenotype 46 XX. They are entirely created in artificial uteri. Unlike the Genos who care about ancestry and descent the Lzhumnapipoi do not care about it and DNA is randomly extracted from good citizens to be used to produce new citizens. Originally the hive-mind enabled Lzhumnapipoi to be able to live a sort of afterlife when they died while connected but this is no longer the case. As more and more generations entered into the afterlife the amount of space in the memory decreases over time as the infrastructure is set up in a manner that would require shutting down the hive-mind in order to update it. Shutting down the infrastructure would mean potentially deleting a large amount of the data in the afterlife so if anyone even so much as thinks about shutting down the infrastructure while connected to the hive-mind they will have that thought deleted and potentially many more thoughts will also be accidentally deleted alongside it.

The hive-mind is not something which all Lzhumnapipoi are connected to all the time but rather it is more like wifi. Most of the time citizens are connected to it but they will be disconnected fairly regularly (about 25% of their days is usually disconnected) and will still be quite functional while disconnected although they will have a desire to reconnect. Once a citizen reconnects they will undergo a thought auditing process in order to find and delete any thoughts that may go against the hive-mind.

Citizens lost their individuality after extended periods in the afterlife and would often accidentally have parts of their minds overwritten with other minds. The afterlife is no longer anything resembling the heaven that it was supposed to be like and is one of the most horrific experiences possible. It bleeds into reality through a sort of VR system that Lzhumnapipoi are linked to. Oftentimes souls try to escape it by entering into an empty mind (either a baby or wiped) and enter into a dead zone where there is no connection. Many times once inside a dead zone they will stay there and refuse to move out of it until the point of death. VR monsters appear in the world often and although not able to cause physical damage can often permanently or temporarily create areas that appear to be unenterable by those connected to the hive mind as well as cause deadly seizures in citizens they attack. Despite all of this the hive-mind still tries to preserve its existence because Thankwabalo is in complete control of it but even he frequently takes control of physical bodies to take breaks from it (although since there is no soul per se it is more copying memories into a body and then downloading memories from the body). There is an extreme fear of death so nobody is willing to commit suicide with the bodies who die in dead zones just being too afraid of the hive-mind to even understand that they need food and water.

The air caste rebellion occurred when members of the air caste were exploring the galaxy (soldiers are also explorers) and while in their periods of extended disconnection from the hive-mind they realized that the hivemind was no longer serving its purpose. They destroyed their links to the hivemind in order to prevent being controlled and managed to convince almost all air caste explorers to do so. This lead them to perform a large offensive to try and temporarily shut down the hive-mind. They were able to occupy almost all territory as most military equipment was either run by them or hive-mind linked but their conquest was still very brutal and they killed most loyalist air cast members in the process. The only reason why they failed is because they didn't have the knowledge of the infrastructure or how to repair it. Once this rebellion ocurred the hive mind ceased production of air caste members and over time the rebels died of old age. The empire became no longer to expand due to the prohibition on explorers for fear of rebellion and the empire rewrote history to say that the rebels were alien occupiers and the same ones who they also claimed the Genos were

In spite of all of this the Lzhumnapipoi are far stronger than the Genos and far more numerous. The Genos acceptance of cessation of existence makes them the most scary possibly thing to Lzhumnapipoi as they seem to lack souls as they look similar but seem to have no care about the safety of themselves or others. The Genos have only rose from their hibernation in generation ships fleeing earth in a few centuries ago and have very inferior technology to the Lzhumnapipoi. Their success in conquering the Oseio and other intellient species comes from them landing in the area of the Galaxy with more intelligent species and their ingeniosity that enabled them to adapt quicker than any of the far more advanced species they conquered. The Genos have most of their technology at the level of those they conquered and began in the year 13000 with technology from 2100 while the Oseio were at around 50000 in their history and many of their other conquests were at similar periods. A single Air caste legion would probably be able to completely destroy the Genos 100 times and the Genos would not be able to conquer a Lzhumnapipoi planet in spite of being immune to most hazards there (Lzhumnapipoi are far more militant than other species and they also had the same ingenuity as the Genos initially but it was lost once the hive mind began malcunctioning)

One of my imaginary worlds I have come up with yo, is like a giant pumpkin that ant people live on. Shit is cool, but the ants are giant and they live in a pumpkin which is also giant, yo. In prison we have a lot of time to think about imaginary worlds, yo.

Mankind, after another more brutal war known as the Solar War, which ended in the collective deaths of perhaps trillions of Human beings. One of the Human corporations such as the United Aerodynamics Space Center invented the Void-Zone Drive or the Void Drive. The Void Drive creates a giant wormhole into space and time by sending Void-Particles that create an artificial Void-Portal, allowing the ship to enter the Void-Zone, the ships will travel along a programmed course until the ship is sent right back into realspace. This allowed ships to cross vast gulfs of stars within a mere instant and began the onset of colonization.
The Human nations such as the North American Empire, the East Asian Coalition, the European Federation and the Ursik Alliance signed a peace treaty that ended the hostilities of the Solar War and began colonizing the eastern spiral arm, developing the soon to be territories for the Neo-Human Races. Void-Lanes were established by each of the four nations to travel across their own territory. In these expansions, the North American Empire fought against a myriad of alien races, but also made many allies along the way such as the Human like Verslosian and the war like Augeras. The European Federation had something akin to what you see in your archetypal genocidal regime, all alien races are to either be pacified, or left alone if they are of a certain power level, the Ursik Alliance tried to induct a great deal of these alien races into their vast empire, even though some joined, many viewed the Ursik Alliance with great enmity. Yet, the area of Human space would be known as Sector Imperator.


With the advent of Human colonization, humanity began to tend to its wounds dealt left from the Solar War. Life expectancy was increased, the standard of living was raised, and many worlds were terraformed to be Earth like. Advances were made in every field of science and technology, but this age of prosperity would not last long. A race of aliens ruled by the A'tean's, a race of spiteful beings, led an assault against the domains of humanity and the other lesser races. Out of all the Lesser Races that the Tripactum Alliance feared would be the Humans. There ability to adapt and overcome anything caused great angst in some of the most baleful minds and intelligence's of the Tripactum. This war caused the four Human nations to go to war against the Tripactum Alliance in a cataclysmic war known as the Extinction War.

The Extinction War was a war that surpassed the greatest of apocalyptic events told in Human mythologies. Entire star systems were swept away by vicious alien machinery from beyond the realms of Sector Imperator. The four nations utilized their most cutting edge weaponry against the Tripactum Alliance and took the lethal aliens by surprise on many occasions, the war eventually ended in the Battle or Aristotle. Aristotle was where the Tripactum Alliance were gathering their entire fleets and armies to stock up and resupply. The Battle ended in victory for the Humans as they struck against the Tripactum's most vital assets and resources that were needed to continue the war. Inflicting a great number of casualties upon the aliens, the European Federation and the North American Empire were at the head of the assault. Two mortal enemies during the Solar War now joined to bring an end to an invasion that threatened their very species to extinction.

The battle ended when every Tripactum structure was disintegrated by gigaton orbital bombardment that scourged the earth of Tripactum. Eventually however, humanity grew decadent and complacent, which began the age of another strife. One called the Age of Ravage.

I am confused as to whether you are detailing the period between 2100 and 10000 where humanity was not under Thankwabalo's control or whether you are saying stuff that is happening in 13000 if this is in the same universe

I was confused by you quoting my posts

The main reason why the Genos are able to conquer so many planets is because other species enter into a state where they become very apathetic to their environments and will often give minimal resistance to being conquered. This occurs because they generally enter a period of extended peace due to everyone shitposting instead of fighting but earth was different since whereas most species develop in a manner where everywhere on the planet is relatively equally developed and they stop fighting over resources after this development reaches a certain point for humans Islamic terrorism and Communism lead to more fighting occuring for longer periods of time which eventually lead to the Genos fleeing Earth for the other side of the Galaxy and knocking the rest of Earth back to 1800. Earth still developed in a way that was relatively typical except for that Thankwabalo was so influential in his own that he managed to transform humanity into the Lzhumnapipoi and create the living hell that is their empire today.

The Genos were far different because they were simply adrift in space in hibernation for 10000 years and were awoken by the Oseio investigating one of their ships. The Oseio were completely willing to allow the Genos live on their planet as an act of charity. They intended to only let 100,000 individuals stay but the Genos tricked them using Quantum teleporters in order to bring all Genos from all ships to the Oseio and they reproduced extremely quickly at a rate of 8 children per woman (and Genos were 90% women due to the practice of male infanticide) with the intention of eventually taking Oseio. Within about a generation the Genos conquered the Oseio and eventually near exterminated them. They introduced some animals they took with them from Earth

The Biochemistry on Oseio is completely compatible with Earth biochemistry but amino acids are found in differing frequencies and there is a lack of a production of vitamins in Oseio species due to using different proteins, this means that the species that originated on earth need to consume species from earth in order to get vitamins but they can subsist on Oseio species for energy and protein. Almost all earth species managed to be taken to Oseio but most died due to not being able to get vitamins. Some species were genetically modified later on to be able to synthesize vitamins themselves

After the Oseio were conquered on their home planet their colonies tried to retake the planet but the Genos were able to defeat them in war primarily because the Oseio waited too long and didn't realize that the Genos had already launched a preemptive strike by the time the attacks were launched which destroyed most infrastructure on the other planets and managed to as a result destroy the supply lines necessary to perform the invasion.

Quantum teleportation is a fairly rudimentary form of teleportation developed in 2085 which enables the teleportation of a person in hibernation to a place with another Quantum teleporter. It uses quantum entanglement to function and it takes about a month to do the teleoporation and ages the person by about 2 years due to minor teleportation errors. It was lost on earth as all teleporters were either destroyed or taken with the Genos. Current (Genos) medicine has found it easier to just correct the aging process with nanomachines after teleportation as opposed to finding a more reliable way. This can create multiple copies using the same data file as was the way that the noncorrupted files were used to create earth life

I came up with a fictional world called Sarglath.
There are three continents to Sarglath. The first one is Rarglath, which means "Our Land" in Larzonak, and is home to their titular empire. The Larzonaks were a settler people who blessed the land with technology and magic and opened up a portal to communicate with the Realm of the Gods. They controlled this through the Scepter of Dimensions so that the barriers wouldn't break, but later stored it away due to the Viser's greed. However, the people were still able to communicate with the god-realm through hyper-technology. Rarglath is shaped like a mountain and contains a vast desert on the bottom and sacred mountains on the top.
The second continent is that of Jarglun, which is a jungly locale where communication with the gods is done through body and biological magic. Everything there is natural and it is more rugged, but also quite advanced. Jarglun was originally settled by a pygmie people called the Rock Lords, but again, they had vanished.
The most technologically advanced continent is that of an archipelago of islands called the Farlands, which has technology that was created without the help of the Realm of the Gods, and have a more egalitarian society.
The Realm of the Gods is another planet/dimension that exists in communion with Sarglath and consists of eldritch beings from beyond space and time who flow and burst with otherworldly magic.

The Genos have a common trope in their media where when there is a group of allied protagonists (a team) only one will be male. The male will usually be the leader but will often be for the most part just defined as being male. He will usually screw up and the female characters have to fix it but also be pretty productive. Occasionally there will be 2 male characters at which point one is young and one is old.

I only came up with a few things.
First off is a parallel universe where the lore of Ufology is largely fact, and that there is a secret society of scientists with a huge complex in the middle of the atlantic ocean. There are also super-villains.
Second world thing is simply a reimagining of the systems of the afterlife. The true-ish good afterlife is known as Otherside, where those who are freethinking and/or truly purely good go, which makes Heaven an illusory hellish war machine, warping and twisting the souls of the violently faithful into empty shells of beast-like soldier spectres. So yeah, euphoric atheist horseshit I guess you could say.

third fictional world-ish thing is a vast desert littered with shards of spiritually energetic crystal that must be collected by the inhabitants of a small fortress-like city called Aratia City. There are more cities, at varying levels of development, but Aratia City has been in the "dark", so to speak, for the past hundred years. Nobody in ANY city, however, has any recollection of history beyond 350 years, due to a great cataclysm.

Well, the first two are in the same multiverse, but for the third one, the cataclysm was supposed to be caused by work at a CERN-like facility, which caused a small group of people, including one scientist, to somehow be the only beings left in the cosmos, and becoming along the lines of gods.

This is a small pipe dream thing that I've always been on-off on, but I've had this small idea for a piece of technology called the Infinity Gear (because I am extremely uncreative) that creates a small temporal anomaly that essentially allows people to brutally murder each other and become reincarnated following. If you've played Borderlands, it's basically like the New-U system there where you can die and become immediately reincarnated (without the condescending messages).

It's part of this dumb idea I've always kicked around of this small little slice of life world thingie that I'll pretty much admit is what happened if you threw literally every single trope in a blender and turned it into a story. The idea of being taught math by an eldritch abomination just appeals to me.

I have this other universe where the world is radically altered by a cosmic storm that passes by. Drastically changing the geography and chemistry of the Earth and the introduction of new races and species and phenomena. The last remnants of organized governments come in the form of military strongholds or bunkers, but the last hope for the Human species come in the form of highly advanced Think Tanks. These Think Tanks are either benevolent, aiding surviving Humans and rebuilding the Earth's infrastructure or outright experimenting on them.

My other one that I have in my head is that an alien galactic alliance comes across the ruins of our Solar System that is infested by extradimensional entities that have wiped out our race. The alliance composed of multiple species fight an indecisive battle against these entities. Already, the galactic alliance is pushed to the verge of unleashing an onslaught of star-killing weaponry against the creature.

The other one that I have created is about an atomic-stylized world similar to that of Fallout 4, only except the United States of America is entering a full out war against communism and has begun a systematic purge against all political dissidents. Using highly advanced technology, both sides of the conflict have found other alternatives to wiping out entire populations than just nuclear weapons.

Fourth one would be about a world doomed by aliens who created humanity long ago, all hopes of defeating the aliens is virtually lost when their enemies arrived on the planet.

Also, another one would be about the survivors of an ill-fated expedition into another alternate reality. One that just so happened to be a plane crawling with nightmarish creatures. These Soldiers, Adventurers, and Scientist have mapped out and explored the many realms of the dimension. With contact to the outside world cut off, the Survivors must face off against the dimensions cruel overlords with just whatever spare weaponry or the armaments forged by these vile creatures which radiate a vile corrupting aura.

Along with that, I have one story where us Humans are nothing more than walking mutant monstrosities who are constantly at war with one another with Big Fucking Guns and that a mysterious group were the ones who subjected humanity to vicious mutation.

I have others that I plan on mind, including some rebuilding of past ones that I have done in the past.

One idea of mine was loosely a rip-off of weeb shit that slowly evolved since I first came up with it back when I was in high school. Originally, the setting was more akin to high fantasy, but became more of a classical age low fantasy where magic can only work with rituals, runes, and incantations that take time. This is the fourth incarnation, and one that I'm getting a bit happy about.

The Anitai - Children of the Sea
The Anitai refers to a race of men that the old stories claim to have been born from the sea, from the baked lands across the water. Tall and swarthy in complexion, the Anitai are the hegemon race of the Continent. They are primarily known as cultured and wealthy merchants and citizen-warriors, although not all follow that lifestyle.

History
Around a thousand years ago, a large fleet of nomads came from across the sea on a variety of vessels. It was said that they were desperate for a new home, as the Baked Lands descended into barbarism and chaos around this time. Many of them saw the cool, windswept peninsula that juts from the West Sea as a new Eden, and settled roots there. They were not alone however; the indigenous people of this region of the world were wary of these foreigners, and proved to be skilled warriors not interested in losing grazing lands. However, the naval skills of the founders of the Old Cities and the mountainous nature of the peninsula allowed them freedom to escape and migrate. Eventually, the Anitai defeated the original inhabitants of the peninsula and could finally find peace.

They grew in prosperity, as their efficient and effective vessels allowed them to trade and fish profitably, and soon they exploded in population, settling newer cities in reasonable locations as trading points. The cities became as great as some of the cities in the east, in the Yim Mountains that crawl up the continents' middle. In another world, the Itjani and their later cousins the Mazuani would merely be a notable people vaunted for their naval prowess, ruling trade cities and petty kingdoms in the southwest corner of the continent. Fate however did not follow this path.

The Anitai you see were unique in one way: they recruited both men and women in the army. This concept came from the earlier wars of survival and never fully went away due to gender laws, which were somewhat more egalitarian than their peer peoples. This gave the Anitai a field advantage in numbers, as they hypothetically could recruit an army twice as large as their peers. This would be one of two tipping points. The other would be the Sa'aba the Victor; a great statesman and general of a petty realm of the Mazuani.

Sa'aba the victor had to regularly deal with the Zorn Confederacy in younger years, a native tribal confederation of horsemen known for their skill with lances and bows. To deal with this, the great general devised a new system for a new model army. The equipment was set to a basic standard; the noble willingly sacrificed much of the personal fortune of their estate to ensure each citizen had the same gear, and a limited form of conscription was enforced where citizens were expected to train at least a few days a month individually and in drill. From there, the wily strategist found out ways to limit and restrict movement for these horsemen, by inventing "mobile fortresses" of men that could quickly build and hold forts against these raiders, as well as mobile skirmishers and spearmen, who could chase the lighter armed Zorninese and still form a spear wall. One subjugation campaign later, and Sa'aba made these raiders a client people and subjects of the crown.

The Victor would split these peoples across the realm and require them to provide horsemen as a tithe of sorts. The newly revised army of Sa'aba the victor now included shock pikemen with spears that serve as a mobile picket line, lighter armed spearman/skirmisher combos, and lancers or bowmen from the Zorn. This would form the core of the Anitai Empire's army, as Sa'aba would use this army to subjugate the proud Itjani Cities, and later on defeat and absorb the kinsfolk of the Zorn. Sa'aba's death trying to navigate the Broken Lands would lead to the Victor's son, Sef the Chessmaster to finish the dream, heading east and conquering up to the Yim, where the Empire settled.

The decades of rule by these conquerors permanently changed the face of the continent. Many of the kinsfolk of the Zorn faded and melded with their masters, forming the Yanani of the plains or the Manbani of the swamps and forests. The kin of the Yim would also suffer some of this fate as well. The proud tribes of the Broken Lands, the Rock of Zam, dreaded Hegemon Wars are a testament of the durability of the indigenous peoples. However ethnic tensions still remained a problem, as did the size of this realm. It culminated in the Dissolution.

The Dissolution was in many ways due to how the Empire was managed. Strong local rulers known as Princes were given power to govern for the realm, as the capital could only control so much. Eventually these Princes would decide to listen only to themselves, and essentially carved the ossifying and decaying realm into personal play things.

Since then, the continent has been at war, as petty strong men, revolutionaries, and tribal groups wage war to exist and grow. In the west, the old Itjani cities seek unity, but only under their own rule or in a free league. The Princes watch as their numbers slowly dwindle, whether due to misrule or misfortune, as all seek to match the legacy of Sa'aba and Sef. The remnant peoples, kin to the Zorn, seek freedom, and in the case of the Broken Lands, vengeance. The Yim Cities of the east have recently entered a golden age, and an expedition led by Zeng the Witchlord has sought to recolonize the long lost Rock of Zam.

In the deserts of the south, a revelation spreads among the Kandak, the Twin Prophets speak of a new Age approaching. Much like the rise of the Anitai heralded an era, this age of decay offers a variety of new promises for whatever will happen...

And here's a bit more on the Itjani, the peoples who call the Old Cities home or who are descended from them.

Itjani
The Itjani, those who hail from the Old Cities, are the most established and venerable clade of this great nation of peoples. They hail from the great City States on the coast of the Sormir Peninsula, which legend states is the long dead corpse of an ancient sea snake that formed the land. These people are prideful, as they see themselves as the true exemplar of Anitai culture, and the site of the great Griot Schools that train scholars, poets, and scribes. The Anitai Empire collapsed by now, but these men from the Cities can prove to be viable successors to the dead state.

The Itjani keep a strong connection to the water; water is the basis for much of the Anitai rituals and provides life in the form of fish and other staples of their diet. It’s no surprise then to see that many of the Old Cities keep potent navies to guard the seas and rivers they lie upon. The city of Nazab in particular are masters of the great Quinquiremes that loom over other vessels in the area, and are host to the Blue Shields, crack crossbowmen and marines.

Besides the Old Cities, the Itjani also populate quite a few of the New Cities that popped up as the Anitai Empire stabilized. These New Cities are seen as lesser by the Old Cities, even though many of them tend to be more potent in arms and trade. Opposed to this, the New Cities see the Old Cities as dens of iniquity, even as the Old Cities hold the greatest of schools. An example of such a New City is the Ring City of Sirkon in particular is a great example of an Itjani ruled city state; master skirmisher horsemen keep the moraine under their control.

The Itjani celebrate a variety of traditional festivals and love games. In particular, they enjoy games of sailing. Gambling dens also are rather popular places for citizens to enjoy games akin to mahjong or chess. The Itjani tend to form the nucleus of powerful Priestly groups in cities as well, and in quite a few Princely States, they form the Priest Caste of these realms. The Old Cities are known to have partially submerged temples, which hold avatars of their numerous gods, each depicted as anthropomorphic sea animals. Of note include the Sea God Sulin, which is seen as part turtle and part man; Gita, the warrior shark goddess; and Guclu, the Griot god who is part octopus and part man.

The Old Cities were traditionally skilled pikemen, and formed the “picket” element of the Victor’s armies. These pikemen tend to be the best funded warriors in an army, as each Itjani pikeman can be found to have a pike, a small circular shield, a helm, marching sandals, and studded tunics. The Crossbow is also a fairly popular weapon in the marine corps of many of the Old Citie’s navies as well. This particular weapon was found and invented by the Yim, and in a lot of ways worked similarly to the ballistae often found on these vessels.

Some of these cities participated in the Hegemon Wars in the late Imperial Period against the Empire, with the best known example being the city of Barros, who willingly worked with the Broken Lands due to the ambitions of the Suffet of the city, Kalim Redbeard. This Hegemon War lasted for twenty years before the last great leader of the realm, Naqa of Zetta broke Barros and crippled the Tribes for two generations.

As of now, the great cities are squabbling amongst themselves, either as independent cities, tributary states of the Princes, or if they are part of a league. The leagues of Nazab, Zetta, Sirkon, and Vidam are all vying for control of the Heartlands. The other cities do not suffer lords lightly, and subjugation is difficult. However, should one of these leagues unite the Old Cities, or they fall to an enterprising leader, it’s possible that this state can become the nucleus of a second Empire. But that’s a big if.
