And agreed. One of the better aspects of trying to play vampires is coming to grips with how utterly selfish and self centred being a vampire is ultimately. You don't give a shit about anyone the longer you go on. Your emotions are muted and distorted. Which makes the step into unfeeling monster such an interesting RP prospect.

There is something unintentional with WhiteWolf promoting and highlighting in the new Vampire books the number of LGBT Vampires. There is a reason for Vampires to sire people who are LGBT; they have and still are outsiders to mainstream society. Not enough ties to mortal society to violate the Masquerade once they first become a Vampire. Certain abilities will allow them to realize their sexual or gender identity which could make the childe loyal to their benefactor. These vampires can establish a herd of fellow outcasts, simultaneously protecting them and feeding on them. It is also a shield for these vampires to claim that they are still human, to keep the beast in check.

And in Modern Nights, the growing acceptance of LGBT people means that these vampires associated with LGBT organizations can use them to secure their territory, attack rivals and the institutions they control.

The irony is that WW has created a system of abuse, where vampires prey on minorities to further their own ambitions.

I don't get the point of playing a Nosferatu that doesn't play up the gruesomeness of their condition. I played multiple Nosferatu back in the day, one of which had a massive hunchback that his ghoul buzzard perched on, ripping of his bloody scabs for nourishment. I don't get why you want to play a Nosferatu who just sucks dick for a living when you could play an actual monster. I have no idea if that's true but after a couple of weeks in the sabbat It's largely redundant, whatever human hang ups you have are gone once the power goes to your head.

Well, there's your problem. That's a channel created in 2012, with 5k subscribers to show for it. I'm going to guess they're doing these streams just because one of the "creatives" had the idea and no one stopped them. With numbers like those, they're not advertising that channel at all.

TBH I wouldn't advertise most of that garbage either. They're not even getting the word of mouth advertisement, which indicates that most of these games are about as fun as a getting a proctology exam.

Oddly, kinda related but I'm kinda looking forward MET new 2nd edition. I, uh, really like the concept of WoD LARP but that may be a bridge too far geek wise. I know it probably attracts some real spergs these days.

Other than liking the updates on the two of the established Milwaukee characters, I found myself not caring as I read it during my lunchbreak. It's sad when you have that feeling when it comes to a series that you love. Dang 5th edition.

I've been reading the 20th edition rulebook. So much better lore. The blood pool is stupid and worse than the 5th edition hunger system but that's the only thing better than 20th in my opinion.

the big issue with 5th ed is the reduction in play style. You've effectively got a game which is very good at one thing which is playing a twitchy monster on the edge of frenzy who needs to stay human, it can't really replicate anything else as well as previous editions because it's hyper focussed on one thing. The anarch/young vs Carmilla/old doesnt work because ultimatly you're all twitchy monsters on the edge of killing everyone after a rough hour.
Most of the issues with the game are extensions of this main issue. The badly written fluff, the fact half the clans are missing in the core book, the fusion of multiple disciplines all which indicate a desire to narrow the focus of the game without consideration if they actually should. Each one of these present issues which can be managed but overall they effectively decimate game style and player agency making the game a massive waste of money for anyone who wants to run anything but twitchy monster on the edge of frenzy who needs to stay human.
