Of what I did see, The Incredibles 2 was probably the worst. Not for the animation, art work, etc. but for Jack-Jack. They gave him way to many powers and was pretty much a Deus Ex Machina. One cool thing about the movie was how the powers were used in creative ways, but since Jack-Jack had too many, there wasn’t as much innovation. Jack-Jack could have just been a shapeshifter and that would have been enough.

I really don't think Hollywood is trying anymore.
I think that by trying to appeal to larger audiences through big-name celebrities and market research, the big releases end up feeling dumbed down. It doesn’t help that PC culture is rampant, so doing anything that would seem even mildly offensive is off limits. It’s like the Hays Code all over again.

This was always intended to be symbolic of the limitless potential every child is born with - I don't think Jack-Jack would still be omnipowered once he hit puberty, for instance. That said, I think it would have been much more interesting for this sequel to have been set years or even a decade or so in the future instead of exactly where the last one left off, to retread all the old ground.

Love, Simon. This movie represents everything wrong with the current generation in regards to sexuality and coming out. I've seen my fair share of high school dramas, but this one is easily the most irritating and self-righteous one.

The premise of this movie is that this guy named Simon likes taking dick up the ass and he's too scared to come out. His family is supportive and understanding of his secret, but he has soooo many other problems in his life, like the fact that he can't hook up with some anonymous guy on the Internet. His life is so hard guys! Don't mind his mansion of a house and his loyal circle of friends, this guy's sexuality crisis is the world's most pressing issue.

I can go in more detail, but the main problem with this movie is that the main character is similar to Sierra Burgess. We're supposed to sympathize with him and cheer him on, but he's truly the antagonist of the story and he deserved to lose in the end. He constantly lied to his friends and tried to manipulate their lives for his own amusement. And why you may ask? He's gay. He's exempt from all evil and all his actions are justified.

This movie is particularly heinous because it rolls out the red carpet for Simon when he eventually hooks up with the guy on the Ferris wheel. He even gets a standing ovation! This movie would have been way better if he was left to rot on the Ferris wheel. He'd at least learn that life isn't fair and he should take responsibility for his actions.

This movie is regaled as a "milestone of inclusion" according to some Rotten Tomatoes reviews because of its colorful cast of characters and LGBT representation. Who gives a shit if the main character is a pasty fudge packer and his friends are woke POC? If the main character was straight, then this movie would miserably fail and it would be criticized for cat-fishing and stalking.

That John Travolta Gotti abomination definitely.

Other contenders:
Truth or Dare
The Death Wish remake
The female Oceans 8 remake
(but I don't think anyone actually watched that)
The Cloverfield Paradox
Robin Hood
Mute
Assassination Nation

Really bad list on the poll, Venom, Game Night, The Incredibles 2 and Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom aren't great but they are nowhere near the worst movies of the year. If they are worst movies you seen last year, you did good avoiding truly awful movies.

Some fucking awful movies I've seen last year.
A Wrinkle in Time, looked ugly with low quality cgi with a director that had no idea to handle such tec, added with bad kids actors and a story which is just not
interesting. Even Disney admits they were wrong to make this movie, pretty clear they were hoping it would a Black Panther style success due to the mostly black cast but ended up their biggest flop of the year.

Game Over, Man!, a made for Netflix movie which came out at the start of the year, pretty much Die Hard but about three want to be video game devs who are housekeepers at a hotel. The worst comedy movie of the year, thankfully already forgotten.

Peter Rabbit, an awful kids movies in the vein of the live action Smurfs and Alvin and the Chipmunks movies, losing all the charm and sweetness from the Beatrix Potter books which is a crying shame since Paddington movies showed such type of movies can be profitable and true to the source. Also James Corden needs to stop being cast in roles, however with Peter Rabbit 2 being planned this will not be the case for awhile now.

Hellraiser: Judgment, another Hellraiser movie that was made to keep to the rights to the franchise, somehow even worse than the last one, very boring and forgettable but at least this time they wrote it as a Hellraiser movie and didn't just use a unrelated script like they did on every other movie past the 4th one.

Selfie from Hell, feel like the title says it all this time.

I Feel Pretty, Amy Schumer worst movie yet, really nothing to added to that.

Gotti, this maybe the most well known bad movie from last year and will live in infamy much like Battlefield Earth, kind of feel sorry for Travolta it's clearly he felt that this would be his come back movie and would lead to awards however the movie fails on every level bar his wigs, he has shockley good wigs in this movie, better than the ones he has in real life.

Day of the Dead: Bloodline, another remake of Day of the Dead, hard to say which remake is worse but at least this one doesn't have a vegan zombie.

God's Not Dead: A Light in Darkness, the best of the God's Not Dead movies yet still fucking awful, it's nice to see they at least try to depth to the characters after the cardboard cutouts of the first two.

Truth or Dare, I want to know who thought that Truth or Dare was a good idea for a horror movie and more so why people saw the movie after the pitiful trailer, it ended up grossing $95million world wide which is just sad.

The 15:17 to Paris, Clint Eastwood decision to cast the real life heroes was a bad one, while no one can says they aren't heroes, everyone should agree they can't act. The other sad fact is the story is not interesting until they get to the train, seeing them reenact their holiday really doesn't do much other than pad out the running time, you would hope it would add to your understanding the characters and their relationships however it doesn't. Story seems like it just wasn't a fit for a movie would would have been far better suited as a documentary.

Deep Blue Sea 2, it really just a made for tv remake of Deep Blue Sea with a super low budget, no way in hell the movie could have turned out even somewhat enjoyable with those factors and it turns out as bad as you would think.

Female Human Animal, tries to make a documentary mixed with fiction based story or so they say, just seems like they were too cheap to pay extras so just filmed during real events, awful movie that just doesn't work. Only 74 minutes but felt 2 hours+. Plot is meant to be "A creative woman becomes disenchanted with what modern life, and modern men, have to offer." but after watching the movie did not get that one bit, seemed more like a crazy bitch follows a crazier dude she is warned about, he ends up trying rape/kill her, she kills him, movie over.

Escape Plan 2: Hades, who wanted a follow up to Escape Plan and did anyone even remember it in the first place. Another case of the movie being a rehash of the first movie with a lower budget. Pointless and boring, not even worth watching even if you are the biggest Stallone fan.

Batman: Gotham by Gaslight, the dc animated movies used to be good, not sure what happened but now they just ruin any story the are based on and are even worse when they aren't based on any comic book stories. Animation quality also seems much worse then they used to be.

Children of the Corn: Runaway, totally forgot I saw this movie last year, why is there 8 Children of the Corn movies, does this series really have a fanbase let alone people who like any of the movies after the first one.

Father of the Year, a netflix produced by Adam Sandler, unfunny comedy which I'm not sure if it even had a plot.

Billionaire Boys Club, tried to be a movie in the vein of Wolf of Wall Street , the movie is a biographical, about ponzi schemes and even has a similar poster to it, however unlike Wolf the script and directing are very bad,. The sad thing is this movie does have a good cast but makes poor use of them. It will be remembered as the movie with Kevin Spacey in it which they didn't think to refilm his part with someone else or pull it from release after kiddy diddlying stuff came out.
