As some of you may know, I have been studying for an LLB (bachelor of laws) degree for the past three years, something which has opened my world to the wonders of student life from double beer bongs full of jack daniels and buckfast combo, to dueling overproof shots, to naked manly sleepins with my roomates after a night on the town.
It turns out however, that my scholarly interest in chris and his antics has become the single greatest thing I could have maintained during these years.
One of my biggest, meanest, and most incomprehensible modules is cyberlaw, of which 75% of the mark is from a coursework project. I had been dreading it for months and when I recieved the possible questions I could answer, i was sure I was doomed....until I saw a question regarding trolling. To be precise, the impacts and legality of issues like trolling, cyberbullying, libel and harassment online.
To recieve top marks one must delve into issues not raised or mentioned in textbooks, issues only in depth independent research could attain, and as I read the question I realised with rising glee that I had long since conduced such independant research on Chris. I had made countless posts analysing his motives, the motives of trolls, and the impact the trolling train had on him through the years...and I knew of countless web pages which would support my findings.
To that end I dedicated almost a full quarter of my coursework towards him and what various statutes and case precidents may (or may not as was entirely the case here) be applied against those that trolled him and whether it would be just to persue such action against the trolls.
Today I got the marks for this coursework
I had got a First class mark, and the section which recieved the most praise was that dealing with christian weston chandler.
To him, and to all of you whom have helped me develop my knowledge of the cwc mythos and the trolling tales I thank you from the depths of my heart.
