It's a bunch of bullshit. What you have to worry about a lot more is people who can recognize your prose style no matter where you are, and who are obsessively dedicated to hunting you down.

There is no algorithm that will do this.

Still, if AI actually gets beyond being artificial and turns into actual intelligence, give up.

Until then, do not fear your fellow humans. They're morons.

I know all too well the hazards of writing style profiling (thanks chat!)

It's much more likely that what you write about could get you doxed over how you write it especially with a lot of posts under the same name, tho.
Adjusting the writing style would kinda ruin the immersion of typing on an online forum as well.

I've actually thought about this, too. In fact, I think that I've recognised certain posters from the Farms on other forums and subreddits based on writing styles (not just off the writing styles, I knew that some people from the here posted in those places). I've made an effort to change up the way I write because of this.

The best thing to do is to ensure that none of your online accounts can be traced back to you IRL, that way even if people can connect them they can't doxx you. Also, don't ever talk about your personal life and if you do put some disinformation in there.

Will we be doxed in the future by the mere way we write?
That's nothing new. I remember a few cases where ED or other Internet PI groups snatched IRL documents and compared signatures and handrwriting in order to link a paper to someone. The gimmick now is the software that does it for you witch is also kind of dated.

I fairly rarely post on some related imageboards and when I do, I actually exaggerate the similarity to my usual style here as an Easter egg for the easily amused. When I'm actually posting as myself, though, I tripfag just to be deliberately annoying because tripfags are vermin.

This is why I intentionally type as an idiot whenever I use my real name. It did a number on my GPA but at least Sam Smith can't find me.

I'm not too sure if this actually has much merit. How likely is it that someone types so similarly to at least one other person that it'd fall short of concrete evidence? Surely it's not as cut-and-dry as something like a fingerprint, or D.N.A., so I don't really see the point of worrying about it as if though it is.

I feel like you'd have to have quite a bit of various things somebody's written to be able to profile them on based on their writing patterns alone. I mean like the guy above said they used it to catch the unabomber, but that was only because his family, people he's spent his whole life with, were able to recognize the patters in the bombers ramblings as their weird rainman retarded relative.

You could potentially find out a lot of things about a person by their writing style, though perhaps not their identity. If they start their sentences with " I mean" or "so today..." or "To be fair..." you can safely assume they are a redditor and therefore eligible for extermination. There are little unconscious habits that we all carry over from places that could be identified if someone were to look close enough.
