This thread is for discussion of investigations into the origin of the Covid-19 virus (aka WuFlu) in a Wuhan Lab.

A lot of misinformation is circulating aimed at assigning a natural origin to the virus without inquiry into other hypothesis. An independent effort lead by anonymous scientists has been organized to counter these narratives and present a fact-based hypothesis as to it's origins.

Abstract: "The goal of this document is to examine evidence that may prove that (1) the SARS-CoV-2 virus was present at a biolaboratory in Wuhan, China, and (2) the SARS-CoV-2 virus was introduced into the greater Wuhan population by an infected lab worker or animal. These claims from this point on will be referred to as Claim 1 and Claim 2."

TL;DR: it didn't come from a wet market. Labs have been mixing bat viruses to create things called chimeras for a long time and they've been tested on lab animals. A lot of the papers related to these tests have started disappearing off Pubmed and Researchgate. The response from the research community has mostly been cry-bully claims of racism. The go on to discuss how escapes have happened in the past with SARS and other highly lethal pathogens, notably from people selling lab animals to wet markets.

Lei Xiao and Botao Xiao are names to watch for. They have been disappeared from online sources and are possibly now wards of the state.
