A 43-year-old man by the name of Baruch Feldheim was arrested by the FBI after they found 192,000 N95 masks, 130,000 surgical masks, and 600,000 medical gloves at his residence in Brooklyn.

The FBI later seized all his supplies and distributed them to medical workers in New York and New Jersey.

And in Harris County, Texas, 750,000 N95 masks were seized from an auction house. However, most of them are unusable as they either had mold or were for construction.

At least those moldy masks will be disposed of before they make anyone sick. It's horrible what people are doing. I wish that stores woukd have instituted limits sooner.

I had a customer get really aggressive with me today since we didn't have any masks for sale. He was like "how do you have one if you're not selling them?! How is that fair?"

For a second there he had a look in his eyes like he was thinking of grabbing it right off my face.

I have one of those travel sized hand sanitizers you can hang from your belt loop and one time a lady tried to guilt trip me into giving it to her young daughter. That one upset me a lot, it was so manipulative.

The "muh freedoms" types will really fuck the US in the upcoming months. Italy had a similar problem in the very beginning (people not taking the situation seriously) and I wonder if it helped the country to the high death rate it has. It probably did.

Also it's kinda interesting to see how every place in the world goes through the same stages in the population, not taking things seriously, then hoarding et all. The hoarding in germany is pretty much over and the supermarkets carry everything again in plentiful amounts, including toilet paper. I'm curious about the papers that'll be written on this topic.

It’s not really people who are worried about freedom as the idiots who just want to keep acting like tards.

Washington D.C. Wharf Crowded With People Violating Social Distancing (archive) -- apologies for this being from TMZ.

At what point can we just plain call this natural selection?

It isn't just these idiots who get killed though. The more cases of this crap out there, the more momentum the whole pandemic has, the longer the economic disaster will continue, and the more likelihood there's a mutation into something even worse.

Don't believe the government is going to stop with this shit after it's no longer needed, if it even is now.

Thought my town was being pretty good about this whole isolating business but: I just had to go into a lockdowned museum building to let in an engineer to do some essential work on the climate control system (observing our 2 meter distancing and dousing our bodies in hand sanitiser the whole time). Between disabling the alarm and turning back around to lock the door a member of the goddamn public had materialised and was trying to get in. We've been on lockdown for 3 weeks now, the police are gleefully issuing fines and generally harassing people for being out of the house without a general loitering loiscence. I had to shut the door in his face and lock him out. He wasn't even one of the usual nutters and homeless who haunt us, just some rando out on a walk.

And as I was typing this I just got a phone call telling me my neighbour has died of Covid. FFS.

Michigan people disagree with the governor wanting to extend the quarantine so they're blocking roadways used by their fellow citizens because that sounded like a sensible thing to do I guess.

There's a reason Illinois is considered somewhat sane.

I keep hearing people sick-coughing while I'm out buying groceries. A fight almost broke out last week, security had to toss a lady out the front door, where she proceeded to REEEEEEE in the parking lot.

Why do people have to be assholes? If you're sick with anything, just stay home. Don't be up in the snack aisle coughing all over the Little Debbies.

Basically, A supermarket manager flipped off a stockpiler who tried to get a refund on almost 5000 rolls of toilet paper he couldn’t sell online.

Good, I hope that that stockpiler lost a lot of money. These are people who tried to profit on this chaos by buying up essentials and price gouging them before other people could get to them. Fuck them.

Yeah, it was only a matter of time, and not a very long one, before toilet paper was everywhere again. I was just at my local supermarket and the TP aislw was completely full and no one was in the aisle at all.

Don't know how these people function, but nixing returns now that stuff is available is beautiful.

This thing has brought the worst self-important assholes to the lime light. The past few times I've gone out to buy food, I've had snide remarks and rude comments from people simply because I walked past them. I try my best to keep 6 feet away from people to appease the masses, but when somebody is standing in an aisle staring at bread for 5 minutes, at some point I give up waiting and go past. Has anybody else had people snap at them? It's the whole mentality of "You don't need to be here, but I do!"

Gotten plenty of dirty looks from people for trying to get past them in aisles. Also got one really funny moment when I was waiting in line for the self-checkout and refused to move up a few feet (which would have put me right next to someone), the shithead bitching at me to move up tried to line-jump on me at one point and got promptly cockblocked by a nearby store manager.
