I do live in Dixie, but keep in mind, most guys in an academic program are from outside state. I myself am, although I just moved from up the mountain to down the mountain.



I'm not joking when I say something like half of my fellow students are Chinese, and I haven't even met one of them since Coronapocalypse kept them out the country. Then a huge chunk are South Asian, then some randoms from Latin America and Europe (no Africans), and then a number of Yankees, and then two Southerners, only one of whom is from the state our university is in.

Seconded. Avoid all NSAIDs after the jab. They will worsen any coagulation issue the not vaccines are causing. (You should probably avoid Aspirin as well). Stick to Tylenol if you have a headache or muscle pain. If memory serves they were advising coof sufferers to avoid them in the early days because they were making the spike protein coagulation issue worse.

Western Australia reimposes restrictions after one new local case of Covid-19 recorded

A physiotherapist in Perth has tested positive for Covid-19 after visiting a Bondi cafe, prompting the West Australian government to reimpose some restrictions for at least three days.

Health Minister Roger Cook said it was believed the woman had the Delta strain of the virus.

“We are treating this situation seriously,” Mr Cook told reporters on Sunday.

Mr Cook said the woman had done everything right.

Restrictions will apply for the Perth and Peel regions from noon.

Among the restrictions are limits of 150 people for gatherings and no crowd at Optus Stadium for the West Coast Eagles versus Western Bulldogs match later on Sunday.

Masks will also be mandatory indoors and the 2 sqm rule is returning.

It was just last week that Western Australia moved to phase five — effectively lifting all restrictions except travel to remote Aboriginal communities.

“We know many of you will be disappointed by this news, but the health of our community is our priority,” Optus Stadium tweeted.

“We’ll see you back at the stadium as soon as government advice allows.”

It's going to be interesting to see what happens in the isolated island nations like Australia and New Zealand. The Delta variant has an R0 of 5 (well at least that's what's being claimed) compared to an R0 of 2-3 for the original. I can't see them keeping it out for much longer unless they ban all inward travel indefinitely. Australia also has very low vaccination rates, folks there don't trust the AZ vaccine which was the main one that was ordered by their government. Will they admit that the Delta variant is a nothing burger or will they keep going with the lockdowns?
