Wurm Unlimited? -

I feel so out of my depth here, I bought the game after my friend said he was going to play it with a couple of people, but none of them have purchased it or even decidedly ran it. *stress sigh*

I understand most of the basics to survive but not enough to LIVE.

So, has anyone else bought it? Is it worth the hassle joining a server and making friends? Are there any kiwifags who play it?

I played it back when there were barely any graphics and everyone moved by gliding. I couldn't figure out how to equip weapons, I got mauled by a bear, and I drowned in a lake because someone built a fort along the coast.

It's the kind of thing I'll get if it goes on a big enough sale.

if its anything like i remember back when facepunch and /v/ gang raped it every year, its one of those games where you need a group of people to play properly. you need to gather a ton of resources and process them into something useful. it takes forever with one person.

basically if you want to do it the old primetime way go here: http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Rowing_Boat figure out how to make a boat. find a small village and steal as much shit as you can. escape to your boat and ride away. they cant catch you. just orbit along the shore of the game world until you find someplace safe to dock and rest. also level up your fighting skills so you can kick peoples asses if they catch you snatching their shit. rinse and repeat.

oh and while eating may not be required to live, it makes life so much easier. try to stay fed.

it would be cool if we could get a kiwi guild going i'd buy the game at some point if that was going to happen

Yeah, I was playing as part of a group too on the DF forums.

Everyone basically formed into raiding parties and attacked each other.

I was either this or Hearth that when I joined within 2 min of spawning in I was gang-swarmed by a bunch of screeching Russians.

I'm drumming up some interests from other people but for now I'm letting the video game sit there for a while, I know the basics and that's all I need for now..
